Chapter 221 Aleshia's Magic Bag
Some time later, the sun shone brightly in the sky, illuminating the surroundings. Ren and Aleshia occasionally perked up their ears at the sound of a slight rustle in the brush, but nothing ever came of it, slowly deteriorating their focus.
Meanwhile, Em and Sam were attentively scavenging for fresh plants and herbs to either sell or use for food. During their efforts, they collected many plants. However, they found themselves in a bit of a fix as they struggled to carry all that they had gathered. They began considering returning to the camp to drop off their haul and told the others.
As they voiced their concerns to the group, Aleshia remembered the peculiarities of her bag. Quickly, she rummaged through her belongings, found her bag, and showed it to the group.
When Aleshia suddenly offered her bag to everyone, they were all confused by her action and asked if something was wrong. In response to their questions, Aleshia gestured toward the bag and explained, "This is a magical bag that can hold more than it appears. If we put all these herbs inside, we can keep gathering more and possibly earn even more money doing it like this."
Disbelief was evident on everyone's faces. Unconvinced by Aleshia's words, they were hesitant to follow her plan and instead began discussing when they should head back.
Noticing they were ignoring her, Aleshia decided to take action to persuade them. She grabbed several handfuls of herbs and stuffed them into her open bag. Through cries of alarm, Aleshia continued adding more handfuls. The bag's outer appearance remained unchanged and intact. When the group saw this, they ceased their complaints.
Aleshia was surprised to see how much the bag could hold, especially since she knew it already contained a substantial amount of both raw and cooked fish, along with who knows what else Lucia had packed inside.
Shouts and exclamations of surprise like "Woah," "Wow," and "How is it doing that!" filled the air. Lucia proudly wiggled on Aleshia's head, feeling a sense of smug satisfaction as she realized her bag was astonishing everyone.
While she pondered the bag, Ren, acting as the leader, considered its potential uses and various other applications. She agreed with Aleshia's plan and asked Em and Sam to help shovel the herbs they had gathered into the bag. They readily agreed and began their task.
Amid the noise and distractions, they all overlooked their surroundings. Fortunately, Lucia, who wasn't as focused on the bag, had been keeping an eye out. She noticed it before it had the chance to attack.
