Chapter 267 - Two Additional Quests

Chapter 267 Two Additional Quests

"Huh, wait, you knew this would happen?" Aleshia exclaimed.

"No, not necessarily," Lucia replied. "It was just a theory based on how unique and experimental the circle we were using was."

"Alright then," Aleshia sighed, shrugging off her shock as she prepared to cast the curing circle.

The process became easier each time she performed it, and, as on previous occasions when she cured them, everything magic-related went off without a hitch. By the time they had successfully treated the first patient of the day, the two of them seemed to have enough energy to cure another person. Unlike the last time, there were no exciting events in that room, and before they knew it, night had fallen.

Once they finished curing the person in that room, Aleshia left to wash up before heading to bed, hoping that the next day would bring something exciting.

Upon waking up, Aleshia felt groggy as she lazily rose from the floor. She checked in on Rebel and Daniel's room and found them surrounded by papers, deep in work. She asked Daniel about the quests he wanted her to tackle and updated him on the two people she had cured.

Upon hearing the news, both Daniel and Rebel seemed to lighten up a bit. Rebel hoarsely exclaimed, "That's excellent news," before returning to her mountain of paperwork. Judging by her voice and the bags under her eyes, it appeared she had been working on that pile ever since Daniel had picked her up.

Before Aleshia had a chance to voice her concerns, Daniel handed her some papers. They appeared to be quests similar to the ones she had completed before, but this time there were two new additions: "Slay wolves" and "Retrieve lost kitten."

Aleshia was puzzled by the last quest and asked Daniel, "I'm not sure that finding a lost kitten and returning it to its owner constitutes a quest."

Daniel looked confused by her comment and replied, "It's a perfectly reasonable request. Not all quests have to involve monster slaying." His tone was sincere, without any hint of mockery. "Besides, I thought it might be a way to help you explore the outside more since we have brought you into our little camp rather selfishly."

"Thanks for explaining," Aleshia said thoughtfully. "Do I need a group around me like last time, or can I take on these quests on my own?" Lucia seemed to dislike that last part and playfully nuzzled Aleshia's hair. "With me and my hat," Aleshia reiterated.
