Chapter 310 - The Vanhollows

Chapter 310 The Vanhollows

Brian pointed at Liam and asked the maid, "Could my party member, Liam, step forward? He is the one who has the cat." After looking at the cat snoozing in Liam's arms, he added, "The cat seems to like him, and he has been carrying it ever since we found it. I wouldn't want to disturb the cat."

After examining the individual Brian had pointed out, the maid agreed. "Very well, he may approach, but he must stop when I say so," she stipulated.

"That is acceptable," Brian said. "Liam, you may go ahead and follow her direction."

Liam nodded and slowly walked toward the maid. Once he was a few steps away from the gate, the maid instructed him to stop, and Liam complied. After that, he offered the feline in his arms to the maid so she could get a better look.

After giving the cat a quick examination, the maid said, "It appears you have found our missing cat. I will take the news back to the manor and return shortly with some people. In the meantime, I kindly request that you refrain from leaving. I believe the young lady will be very happy to see the cat again, and I'm sure the lord will reward you as promised." The maid said, speaking fondly of the girl.

The maid left after speaking to the group, leaving them with nothing to do but wait. To pass the time, the girls began to distract themselves by petting the cat in Liam's arms. They became so engrossed in their furry companion that they didn't notice when the maid returned. Fortunately, Liam and Brian stayed alert and kept a close eye on the situation. They warned the girls about the maid and the other people she brought along, giving them enough time to regain their composure before facing them.

Four others accompanied the maid. One appeared to be a young girl, another was an older man, and the last two looked like the noble's personal guards. Upon reaching the gate, the maid announced, "Thank you for waiting so patiently. Please allow me to introduce the young lady, Tersa Vanhollow." At the mention of her name, Tersa curtsied. "This man is the lord of this estate, Jeremy Vanhollow."

"I am pleased that you were able to find my daughter's pet. Please come through the gates; we will send for some tea and snacks," Jeremy offered the party.
