Tony's phone buzzed violently across the table. The moment he answered, the unmistakable voice of Nick Fury snapped across the line.
"Turn on your screen, Tony. We've got a situation downtown."
Tony sighed, rubbing his temple.
"Hello to you too, Fury," he muttered, grabbing his tablet and flicking the screen on.
What greeted him made his heart sink. Chaos. Pure chaos. A towering figure, muscles bulging beneath crimson armor, was tearing through Times Square like a wrecking ball through glass. Fire and smoke choked the air, buildings groaned under stress, and bodies lay across the streets.
"Oh my god…"
"You need to get there and fast," Fury continued. "The Juggernaut is loose and destroying the entire block."
Tony was already halfway to his glass wall. He pressed a panel and the window slid open.
"How the hell did he get to the city without anyone spotting him?"
"Not important," Fury snapped. "Just stop him before there's no city left to save."
Tony dove out. The rush of air slammed against him, but in seconds, pieces of the Iron Man suit came flying out from his tower, magnetically locking into place around his body mid-fall. As the final piece his helmet clicked shut, Tony veered into a hard curve.
"Way ahead of you. I'm heading toward him now. I'll hold him off until the rest of the Avengers arrive and we find a way to stop him."
"Jarvis, status."
"Sir, pulling traffic cam and drone feeds now," came the smooth voice of the AI. On Tony's HUD, the devastation became clearer. Crushed cars, destroyed police lines, entire sections of road torn up. Red markers dotted the map.
"Civilian casualties rising. Evacuation points active but overwhelmed. Enemy identified: Juggernaut, class Omega threat. Engaged by S.H.I.E.L.D. ground forces with minimal success."
Then something else caught his eye another blur on a different feed. A figure slinging through the air.
"Spider-Man?" Tony said aloud.

And there he was Peter Parker web-swinging with furious speed, dodging gunfire and debris, and dragging behind him something he yanked from a downed S.H.I.E.L.D. chopper.
From the ground, the Juggernaut raised a SHIELD agent like a toy. Without hesitation, Peter launched the rotary blade of the chopper straight at the behemoth's chest. The impact made Juggernaut stumble and drop the man.
SPIDER-MAN POV
Peter had been on his way home. Job well done. Another day, another bunch of goons with more guns than brains.
That was until the billboard lit up with "EMERGENCY ALERT The footage hit him like a punch in the gut. There was Blood, Fire and Screams. Times Square looked like a war zone.
Peter didn't hesitate.
Now, as he landed on the edge of a building and saw the destruction up close, he felt cold and numb. His heart thudded violently in his chest.
He had seen death. He'd lived with guilt. But this? This was a massacre.
Bodies split in half, entrails steaming in the cool air. The pavement was red. A building nearby had collapsed entirely, trapping both cars and civilians underneath. He jumped into action, slinging webs to hold up a crumbling ledge, straining to keep it aloft just long enough for two people to crawl out.
Looking around searching for what he could use. He spotted a missile from the wreckage. Webs shot from his wrists, grabbing it and the fallen agent.
"Brace yourself!" he shouted, launching the missile at the monster's face. Another web yanked the agent away from death at the last second. The explosion sent them both flying, Peter twisting mid-air to absorb the brunt of it.
They landed hard. He rolled over, groaning.
"Run!" he shouted to the agent names David, according to the tag just as his spider-sense screamed. He split into a flip, a chunk of asphalt whizzing past where his head had been, smashing into a storefront.
He landed sideways on a building and glared down.
"So you're the Juggernaut, huh?" he said, panting. "Big guy. Armor like Goliath. And that helmet? You headbutt tanks or something?"
The behemoth laughed.
Then clapped.
The force of the impact shattered the streetas a sonic boom ripped outward, cars lifting into the air. Peter's ears rang violently as he was flung backwards.
"Ugh, this is getting ridiculous," he muttered, "does everyone have super strength these days?!"
He scanned the field. Debris everywhere and an idea sparked in his head.
He fired webs at nearby slabs of concrete and used the momentum to whip them toward Juggernaut. From streetlight poles to broken girders, Peter leapt from point to point, weaving a barrage of high-speed projectiles. They slammed into the mutant with enough force to dent steel, but it seemed to only annoyed him.
Peter landed and Juggernaut charged in with a punch.
"Holy SH—!"
The punch sent him through a building wall and into a bathroom, busting pipes and flooding the tile. He groaned in pain as he felt a few of his ribs cracked.
"Okay, ow. That's gonna be a Yelp review."
He staggered out. And the moment he emerged, Juggernaut leapt again with his massive, unstoppable form. Peter twisted sideways, barely dodging. He webbed two nearby cars and swung them like wrecking balls. They slammed into the mutant.
Peter shot across to the opposite building and began webbing everything from girders, cranes, broken support beams creating a colossal, interconnected web across the construction site and nearby towers.
"Do you know that Spiders catch their prey in webs?," he said, alighting above Juggernaut. "Be a good boy and stay put until the Avengers show up."
Juggernaut chuckled, voice echoing.
"You think threads can hold me, bug? I'm destruction incarnate. I will break this city, and you won't be able to do anything to stop me."
The street began to tremble.
Glass cracked, Concrete split and Trailers collapsed. A thunderous quake echoed through the area as debris crashed down as all the structures he had used to hold him down came crashing and destroyed. Peter's spider-sense flared just in time as he ducked the blur of a punch as Juggernaut lunged, collapsing the building Peter had been in.
With a roar, Juggernaut leapt sky-high, coming down like a meteor.
Peter ran, flung himself aside barely missing the shockwave. The stomp sent cars and rubble flying everywhere as a dust cloud boomed up. Peter jumped between falling debris, but the shockwave clipped him.
Spinning and disoriented before he felt a pair of hands grab him mid-air.
"You alright, kid?"
He looked up as someone caught him.
"Mr. Stark…"
"Yeah, yeah, save the fanboying for later—"
They ducked as a lamp post shot past at sonic speed, creating a boom that shook the whole district.
Juggernaut crouched for another leap as the ground caved in him.
"Deploy flares, Smoke pattern delta." Tony commanded.
From his back, dozens of canisters fired, scattering blinding lights and thick smoke across the battlefield. Causing Juggernaut's jump to miss entirely.
"Now," Tony muttered, voice hard behind his mask. "Let's buy some time."
