The sweet smell of cherry blossom filled the air, petals with colors varying from white to pink flew along the soft puffs of wind. Its spring, where flowers bloom to show their beauty to the world. On this perfect spring day, a girl will express her blooming attraction towards a special boy.
Under a cherry blossom tree just by the front building, a boy and a girl stood in front of each other, the moment was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect, it was the perfect time.
The girl breathe in and smiled, "Senpai....I..I" she stuttered, balling her fist she gathered her confidence and meet the brown and slanted eyes of the person she likes, "I like you, Nishinoya-senpai!" she yelled with all her might as her face was red from embarassment.
The wind blow a sudden breeze, taking along some petals of the cherry blossoms, making the situation more romantic than before.
The boy was astonish by the confession, he gasped "I...actually.."
"Yanase...I actually.."
"YANA-CHAN!!"
Yanase yelped from her sleep from the sudden outburst and instantly glared at her friend for disturbing her slumber. "Chiho why'd you do that?!" she said pouting.
"Why, did I disturb a romantic dream session?" Chiho smirked teasingly, making Yanase blushed.
'Its was getting good too.' Yanase thought as she let out a giggle, 'Nishinoya was about to confess to me hehe' she added.
"I must've had" Chiho teased, "Considering you're giggling to yourself, again." she added.
Yanase frowned and didn't mind her friend's continues teasing, her head was up in the cloud of her own paradise, fantasizing like the otaku she is.
The day went on like the usual daily routine, classes, break time, lunch, more classes and lastly home time. As the sun started setting, the sky was colored with strikes of colors which reflects on the river. Yanase walked home with her usual habit of watching anime on her phone, as she passes store by store she was greeted by many who knows her in the neighborhood, like the kids by the playground where she as a child used to play.
Giggling as she reached her house just before night falls, "I'm home." she said with a calm and joyful tone. Hearing her voice, a loud bang came from upstairs as well as multiple footsteps rushing down the staircase.
"Onee-chan!!" two identical kids came hugging on Yanase's waist, both having auburn hair just like hers, as well as light brown eyes just like her.
"Have you been good? Haru, Hina?" she asked as her eyes soften while gazing down on the two clinging on her waist.
"Yes!!"
She felt a sense of comfort and peace as the twins began chatting about how their day went by, its as if all her problems and exhaustion was carried away by all the cuteness and innocence of the twins. She smiled lovingly, happy that she gets to have this kind of moment whenever she gets home from school.
After dinner she had her warm bath, taking her time and feeling at ease, the steam from the bath was filling the whole bathroom.
She got out of her bath and wrapped herself with a towel, "Better get ready for bed.", she muttered as she started changing into her pajama.
Laying down on her bed she instantly opened her laptop, going back straight to her watch list and continued her stalled anime. She was re-watching the first season of Haikyuu and keeps on repeating episode 18 where Nishinoya made the unbelievable receive using his feet, this was the reason she started her fangirling era over this character.
The time passed by and it was already near midnight, completely forgetting that she has an early class tomorrow.
~The Next Morning~
The sun was brightly shining and birds are singing their lovely morning symphony, and in this quite morning on a normal household, a chaotic morning greets them.
"I'm gonna be late!!"
A loud bang came from the upstairs room, there were thuds and rumples as Yanase grab everything she need as fast as she could. It was nearly 8:30, the time for High School students first period, and it made Yanase resort to running to school. She kissed her younger twin siblings goodbye as well as her mother before rushing out to the street.
Panting and gasping, she exerted her inner strength to rush, the sound of the westminster bell echoed through the air as she nears the school premises, the chimes indicates that the classes are about to start.
' Oh my goodness, I need to hurry.'
Rushing through her locker and grabbing her 'uwabaki' she walk in a rush through the corridors and up the staircase to her classroom. "Please let me be first to arrive than our sensei." she anxiously whispered, as being late can be viewed a rude act.
When she reached her classroom she slide the door open and relief was instantly written on her face, she rushed to her seat and as she sat down the sensei walked in the classroom. She sighed. The homeroom began and so as the day and time passed without any problems.
The sky is now being colored by the sun with beautiful colors, the birds are chirping as they flew home, as well as the crickets playing their harmony marking the end of the day.
"It'll be fine, its almost dark so there won't be a lot of people walking around." Yanase smiled and started walking the opposite way as her friend in front of the main gate, "see you tomorrow Chiho-chan." she yelled after and walked off.
Chiho sighed, "That girl is seriously gonna get in trouble someday." she then walked the opposite way as Yanase, looking up at the orange colored sky she once more sighed, "I feel a little uneasy somehow."
As Chiho walked her way home, her uneasy feeling grew even more. 'why do I suddenly feel so heavy, for no reason?' she thought as her hand held her chest, where a stingy pain is throbbing. "Guess I'm just tired." she muttered to herself and continued walking home.
Her footsteps synced with the symphony of the crickets, she started rummaging through her bag, "Oh geez, I forgot I lend Yana my notebook, I should probably get it, my homework is in there." she uttered and made her way to her friend's house.
Through her silent walk, this uneasy feeling grew stronger. As she was about to pass their school, the sound of an ambulance echoed through this peaceful night and it run pass her, "What the.." she whispered and suddenly her phone rang, it was Yanase's mom.
"Hello auntie," she answered.
["Hello Chiho-chan, I'm sorry to disturb you this late."], the voice from the other side of the call said with worry heard from her voice.
"It's no problem auntie I'm actually on my way to your house right now, how can I help you?" Chiho asked as she pants, there was a short silence in their call before Yanase's mom spoke again.
["Is Yana at your house?"], after that question Chiho stopped dead in her tracks, "Eh?" she said, ["It's just that she still hasn't arrived home yet, it's almost dinner time."]
"Auntie I'll try looking for her, I'll call back as soon as I find her." she declared, ["Thank you Chiho."]
Chiho put her phone back in her bag and run through the usual road Yana would take every time she goes home, she went to the playground in Yanase's neighborhood and search every nook and cranny of the place and didn't find Yanase anywhere. She rushed through the neighborhood and as she was nearing Yanase's house, she spotted a crowd of people ahead and bunch of cars stopped on their tracks.
"Excuse me, please let me through." she said as she try getting through the crowd, 'What's going on anyway?' she thought. She was nearly through when her eyes caught a glimpse of what the people were buzzing about.
A girl about her age, wearing the same uniform, laid on a pool of blood in the middle of the road, her eyes open without the brightness it once had and her body grew colder and colder.
Chiho slowly backed away, her eyes grew bigger, all her strength then left her body and she collapsed on her knees. Tears started to welled up, and her voice cracked as she tried to utter a single yet painfully heavy word.
"Yana-chan.." she said with her voice cracking, she pants heavily as she try to mutter her words out. Gasping she catch her breath, her eyes locked with her best friend's once bright and beautiful eyes which was now dark and lifeless.
