Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 The White Old Man with the Power of Money

"Wait! Are you saying you are Exorcists and the owner of the villa hired you to perform an exorcism?"

Hearing James's description of their purpose, the female detective shouted in alarm.

"Damn it!"

The detective, cursing under her breath, hurriedly pulled out her communicator.

"Boris! Boris!"

"What's wrong, Sara?"

"Get out here quick, there's an Evil Spirit here! Come out now!"

"What! Shit!"

In the midst of the detective's shouts, the three officers who had already entered the villa came running out, rolling and crawling!

"What happened, Sara?"

After composing themselves, the lead officer, who looked quite displeased, approached.

"It's like this..."

After listening to his subordinate's account, the officer went straight to Chu Feng.

"Hello, Mr. Exorcist, I'm Boris, the officer in charge of this call."

"Hello, Officer Boris. I am Chu Feng, but you can call me Chu."

Just as Chu Feng finished introducing himself, the detective named Sara exclaimed in shock.

"You're Chu? Oh my God! Are you the same Chu who claimed the ten million dollar reward from Ms. Valente?"

Seeing the astonished looks of the four detectives, Chu Feng shrugged his shoulders.

"Yes, that's me!"

Upon learning Chu Feng's identity, the detectives' demeanor became much warmer.

"Mr. Chu, since you were invited to resolve the situation here, has the Evil Spirit been dealt with?"

"Not yet. We opted to notify you first to avoid any misunderstandings."

Hearing that the Evil Spirit was still present, the officers' faces darkened considerably.

"So, you're saying the Evil Spirit is still inside this villa?"

Chu Feng glanced at the Compass on his wrist.

"No, it's no longer in this villa!"

"That's a relief, that's a relief."

Upon hearing Chu Feng's words, the female detective looked much relieved.

However, Officer Boris frowned, sensing something off in Chu Feng's words.

"Wait a minute, Mr. Chu, what do you mean by 'it's not in this villa'?"

Chu Feng gestured toward the neighboring villa with a tilt of his chin.

"There. If I'm not mistaken, the Evil Spirit should now be in that villa!"

After hearing Chu Feng's revelation, the detectives recoiled in fear from the direction of the neighboring villa.

"Mr. Chu, would you be willing to help us remove the Evil Spirit?"

Boris, cautiously glancing over Chu Feng's shoulder at the villa behind him, made his request.

The big fish had taken the bait!

"You might be disappointed, Officer Boris. My employer has passed away, and without payment, I won't take action!"

Although internally pleased, Chu Feng outright refused.

"May I inquire, Mr. Chu, what would your price be?" Boris, still harboring a glimmer of hope, asked.

"Officer Boris, given the strength this Evil Spirit has shown, I would require a fee of two hundred thousand dollars to take action."

Seeing an opportunity for payment, Chu Feng certainly wasn't shy.

"That much!"

Hearing the figure Chu Feng quoted, Boris knew the police department would definitely not pay that sum.

After hearing Chu Feng's quote, Sara, who was beside Boris, had a quick thought.

"Boris, we can't afford that fee, but there are others here who can!"

Following Sara's gaze, Boris too looked towards the villa harboring the Evil Spirit.

Chu Feng, realizing what was happening, naturally didn't mind offering a small bit of help.

"If you two would like to communicate with the owner of that house, I can also contribute my modest help to protect you from the Evil Spirit's attack."

"That would be most appreciated, Mr. Chu!"

A thought struck Chu Feng, and he waved his right hand.

The Four Symbols Spirit Trapping Formation immediately shifted its position, enveloping the neighboring villa.

"All right, you two. As long as you don't go inside the neighboring villa, you won't be attacked by the Evil Spirit."

"Is it really that simple?"

Though skeptical, Boris and Sara mustered their courage and slowly walked up to the door of the neighboring villa.

"Officers, is there something wrong?"

After several rings of the doorbell, a portly white elder poked his head out of the door.

"Hello, New York Police. Is it just you at home?"

After showing his badge, Boris went straight to the question.

"Ummm... My girlfriend is here too!"

The elder hesitated but told the truth.

"Can you call her out?"

"No, don't call her out!" Chu Feng, not far behind the two, spoke up with a reminder.

"Right, right, right! No need to call her out!"

Hearing Chu Feng's reminder, the two officers finally realized. The Evil Spirit was confirmed to be inside this villa. Since the white elder seemed alright, the location of the Evil Spirit was quite obvious.

"Officer, what exactly is going on?"

The white elder seemed bewildered by their conversation.

"Sara, explain it to him!"

After Sara finished explaining the situation, a white elder in only white underwear almost instantly appeared on the villa's lawn.

"Officers, please chase away that Evil Spirit right now!"

"Sorry, sir, we don't have that capability."

"Shit! I don't care! I am a taxpayer of America; you have to ensure my safety!"

The rebuffed white elder was very irate.

"Sir, please forgive us. We cannot perform tasks beyond our abilities, but we can recommend an Exorcist Master to you!"

Following Boris's gaze, the white elder also looked towards Chu Feng, who was waiting nearby.

"Who is this Easterner?"

"Sir, his name is Chu Feng. If you are well-informed, you might have heard of him!"

Upon hearing Boris's introduction, the white elder's eyes visibly brightened.

"Chu? Are you the Chu who helped Ms. Valente with her problem?"

"Yes, that's me!"

Chu Feng hadn't expected that so many people would now know his name. He didn't realize that all this was thanks to Tatyana's promotion in high society.

"Mr. Chu, please help me expel that Evil Spirit; money is no issue! I am willing to pay three hundred thousand US Dollars."

The excited white elder directly grabbed Chu Feng's hand and made his request.

"No problem, sir."

Unexpectedly receiving a stroke of good fortune, Chu Feng agreed right away.

Under Chu Feng's signal, everyone else retreated to the side of the road.

"Oh, sir, there's something I need to inform you about first—the exorcism might cause some damage to your villa."

"Mr. Chu, as long as you take care of that Evil Spirit, I don't mind if you tear down this villa. After all, I have many such villas!"

"Uh..."

The elder's sudden display of financial power left Chu Feng speechless.

With a flip of his left hand, the long-missed AA-12 shotgun was immediately in Chu Feng's grasp.

After another glance at the Spirit-Seeking Compass on his wrist, Chu Feng pushed open the villa's front door and boldly stepped inside, under the watchful eyes of all present.
