"Could you please stop following me? I'm begging you."
He spoke up.
"Sure," the Old Blind Man said with a smile, "as long as you think of me when you die, I won't follow you now."
"Die?" Augustus repeated.
"That's right. I'm looking for someone, but that person is well hidden. Only when you die will I have a chance to find him," the Old Blind Man said.
"What do you mean?" Augustus asked with wide eyes.
"A cat eats a mouse, and I eat the cat—"
"Not exactly, I just want to know the whereabouts of that cat," the Old Blind Man said solemnly.
Augustus was stunned for a moment.
Eat a cat?
Crazy.
No one in the world eats cats.
Even though no one had much money, no one ate cats.
Yes.
This guy must be crazy.
The best way to deal with a madman is to humor him and then stay as far away as possible.
"Alright, I promise you."
Augustus said.
"Deal?" the Old Blind Man asked.
"Deal," Augustus said.
