After Delilah's call with Mrs Jenkins, she went to freshen up and changed into an elegant red evening dress with gold sandals. When she came back out, Jessica and Ned were sitting together in the living room scrolling through the television for a show to watch.
"I'm stepping out for a little while," Delilah announced before either of them could ask her why she was dressed that way.
"Date with Hunter?" Jessica asked, glancing up.
"Something like that. Today's his birthday," she said with a grin and both Jessica and their father sat up.
"Why didn't you say anything all day?" Jessica asked, reaching for her phone to give Hunter a call.
"No! Don't call him. He doesn't know that I know. I want him to think I don't know. I'm going to surprise him at his work. So, don't call or say anything until after my surprise," she said with a grin.
