Chapter 362 - Chapter 362: Persuasion

Castle spoke frankly: "From what I've gathered, it seems that Cross discovered the leader of the Assassin Brotherhood had violated their beliefs or something, so he defected from the organization. But I don't know the specifics. This is their secret, and I didn't even know such an impressive organization existed until yesterday. These bits of information are all I managed to get after consulting some sources."

John Wick and Gianna, knowing Castle had deep connections within the Continental Hotel and the High Table, exchanged a glance without doubting his source. Mozzie, despite not knowing these details, trusted Castle's intelligence accuracy due to their long-standing relationship. The overweight drone operator was still confused about what the Assassin Brotherhood was and didn't really care.

Castle continued: "The scene was incredibly puzzling. There were six dead bodies. Aside from a female victim killed by four assassins later killed by Mr. X, those four assassins were all taken down by Mr. X. But what's shocking is that Mr. X single-handedly took down four heavily armed assassins. Even more unbelievable was that when he encountered the gunfire from those assassins, he was on a building thirty meters away. After they killed the woman with him, he leaped thirty meters across to the building where the assassins were and killed them all, only to have his head blown off by Cross with a long-range sniper shot."

Castle's words left Mozzie and the overweight drone operator stunned, while John Wick and Gianna remained composed. They were already aware that the Assassin Brotherhood had strange capabilities. John Wick even thought to himself that Castle probably didn't know these assassins could curve bullets.

The overweight operator, initially uninterested, was now excited by the thought of a "superhuman" appearing in Manhattan. Mozzie, having only heard rumors about the Brotherhood, was intrigued by the mention of assassins capable of such feats and wanted to know more.

However, Castle, after piquing everyone's interest, shrugged: "That's all I know. I found out that one of the dead was Mr. X from the Brotherhood, killed by Cross. It's already quite impressive to know this much. Did you really think I would know everything?"

Castle thought to himself: I do know everything, but I can't say that. I can't just reveal all the secrets of this hidden organization. However, by playing the role of someone with limited information, he avoided suspicion from the others. Gianna, in particular, was already impressed by how much Castle had managed to find out so quickly.

Just as John Wick was about to advise Castle not to get involved further, Castle proudly said: "Yesterday, I quickly realized something was off and persuaded Beckett not to get too involved. Later, the information I gathered confirmed this. Apparently, these Assassin Brotherhood guys are all nuts, worshipping some loom. Isn't that a cult? Thankfully, this morning I got the latest news that the case has been taken over by the FBI. It's good that those fearless federal agents are handling it now; otherwise, I would really be worried about my partner investigating this case."

John Wick, who was about to advise his friend against investigating the case, felt relieved hearing this. Gianna also agreed with Castle's decision and said: "Rick, you made the right choice. The assassins in the Brotherhood are fanatical believers. They worship a loom they believe communicates fate's will by weaving names into the fabric. These assassins think the names are of those who need to be eliminated to prevent evil. Your decision to stay away is wise."

Mozzie and the overweight operator were bewildered. What kind of idiots worshipped a loom? But Castle feigned shock and added: "A loom? Their boss is a loom? These guys are idiots! A group of highly skilled killers worshipping a loom is seriously troublesome."

Gianna nodded, agreeing with Castle. Due to her family's connections, she knew more about the Brotherhood than John Wick: "Yes, this organization has been around for many years, and their most dangerous aspect is their training method, which can awaken extraordinary potential in their members. However, there's a significant downside. Their assassins must return to their headquarters every month to soak in a strange liquid, or their bodies will collapse. This organization is a major headache, so it's best to avoid them."

While Mozzie and the overweight operator treated this information as an intriguing story, Castle now felt more at ease. His system's assurance that there would be no supernatural forces in this world seemed accurate. The legendary assassins capable of bullet curving and extraordinary feats had been significantly toned down.

Knowing he wouldn't face the same overwhelming threats as depicted in his previous life's stories, Castle was relieved. Although Cross's long-range sniping was still a deadly threat, Castle didn't foresee crossing paths with him before Cross met his own fate. Besides, Sloan was planning to send Fox to recruit Cross's son, Wesley, to train him for a showdown with his father. So, Castle had nothing to worry about.

The most pressing concern now wasn't the loom-worshipping assassins but Vincent Adler, who was making waves in the Atlantic.
