When he learned that those idiots planned to make their move the day after arriving in New York, stopping only briefly to prepare, Castle couldn't help but feel exasperated. He understood that the CIA was rushing because they feared his surveillance systems in New York and his deep connections in the city's underworld. They wanted to act quickly to avoid complications. But seriously? Couldn't the famous CIA come up with a more meticulous and detailed plan to at least make things interesting for him?
To be fair, Castle might have been too harsh. It wasn't that they couldn't come up with a better plan. Their strategists likely knew that the more complex the plan, the higher the risk of unexpected variables. Sometimes, simplicity works wonders.
The plan of the five nameless cannon fodder agents was to stage a car accident during Alexis's commute to school on Long Island's highway to Manhattan, kidnap her, and escape towards New Jersey. Simultaneously, Ethan, assisted by Benji and Luther, would cross the northern shore of Long Island from Port Chester by speedboat. They hoped to exploit the chaos caused by Alexis's kidnapping to infiltrate Castle's estate via the beach.
Looking at this plan—which could only be described as "crude"—even Castle had to admit that if he weren't already aware of their intentions, such an unexpected move might indeed catch him off guard and expose security vulnerabilities in his estate, giving Ethan an opening.
But since he already knew their plan, did they really think they could succeed? What a joke!
Castle was also curious if the CIA had warned Ethan about the presence of blue-ringed octopuses in the waters near his private beach. Didn't they worry about these deadly creatures attacking during the landing?
Yes, the very same blue-ringed octopus that had killed Senator Pratt. Castle hadn't discarded the creature after it completed its mission; instead, he had kept it in the basement of his mechanical lab. True to his promise of building a "harem" for the little octopus, Castle had constructed a massive aquarium and bought several female octopuses for its amusement.
The octopus was now happily engaged in daily antics with its companions, playing colorful games of "chase me, and I'll let you catch me."
Looking at Ethan's plan, Castle couldn't help but think: if he hadn't developed a fondness for Ethan's character after watching all five Mission: Impossible movies in his previous life, he might have ensured that tomorrow's infiltration attempt ended in a flurry of octopus attacks.
Still, Castle had already decided to capture Ethan and his team alive. After all, the three of them were coerced into the mission by the CIA's acting deputy director, who was also a leader of the Roxyette organization. Castle bore no deep resentment toward them.
The five tasked with kidnapping Alexis, however, were another matter entirely. Thanks to Jarvis, Castle already knew their identities, CIA positions, ages, and even their family addresses. If they dared target his daughter, they shouldn't dream of leaving Long Island's highway alive.
And as for the nameless figure persistently causing him trouble, Castle had added him to his "must-kill" list. He even called back Bob, who had been sent to Southampton to protect Martha.
"Rick, are you saying you've confirmed the CIA is coming, and their target is Alexis, who'll be driving alone to school tomorrow? What's your plan?" Bob, just arrived, found it hard to believe that anyone would dare target Castle's daughter. The world knew Castle was a notorious "daughter fanatic." Kidnapping anyone else might anger him, but targeting Alexis? Bob could already foresee the grim fate awaiting those involved.
"Bob, I need your help. Ivan and Beckett's police team will be busy tomorrow. For example, Ivan will take ten men to ambush those planning to kidnap Alexis, taking them out the moment they act. Meanwhile, I and another dozen men will remain at the estate. Ethan plans to infiltrate while Alexis is being kidnapped, and he's highly skilled. I can't leave the estate to deal with Alexis's abduction personally, so I'll rely on drones and Ivan's team. I need to wait for the so-called CIA ace to show up here.
As for the mastermind, the one codenamed 'Nameless,' I need you to eliminate him. He's the head of Roxyette's New York operations and the root of all these problems. I want him gone so I don't have to keep dealing with this nonsense."
Bob didn't hesitate. "No problem. If your intelligence is accurate, and he ends up in my crosshairs, I guarantee he won't escape."
Castle was grateful for Bob's prompt agreement to take out a CIA operative. "Don't worry; the intel is solid. Jarvis has been tracking this troublemaker the entire time."
Bob nodded. "I'll need a high-precision sniper rifle, attachments, a handgun, and a compact submachine gun for close quarters. Also, a vehicle…"
Castle laughed. "No problem. Everything you need is in the basement armory. Once you've picked your weapons, head to John's shooting range next door to calibrate them. His estate has a state-of-the-art range built by Gianna.
Jarvis will provide real-time intel on your target's location and movements during the mission. Make sure you take a smart wristband and Bluetooth earpiece."
Bob grinned. "I've never carried out a mission with AI support before!"
After equipping Bob and ensuring his rifle was calibrated, Castle returned to his estate to brief Ivan. He explained that the CIA wanted his God's Eye tracking software so badly they were planning to kidnap Alexis during her school commute. Ivan's reaction was explosive.
Since being transferred from Africa to New York by Gianna, Ivan and his team had been living in luxury. Castle treated them exceptionally well, even relocating their families to the city. Castle's immense strength meant they rarely had to intervene directly. They also adored Alexis, the lively, red-haired girl. Knowing someone planned to harm her enraged Ivan.
"What do you need us to do?" Ivan asked, his expression dark.
Castle smirked. "Take ten men to ambush them on the highway. Kill them once they act."
Ivan, surprised by Castle's ruthlessness, nonetheless admired the decisiveness. "Understood. That's our specialty. But what about the estate?"
Castle's grin turned sinister. "They'll send another team here during the kidnapping. I'll handle them with the remaining men. Remember, I'll inform Beckett about the situation later, so your team needs to eliminate those bastards before the police arrive. No survivors."
