Ariane entered Elian's office shortly after receiving a call from him on the office land line.
"Sir," she said without emotion, her head low and her gaze fixed on the floor.
"Have you completed the assignment I gave you?" He asked without giving her a look.
"Yes, sir." She spoke quickly, her voice remaining emotionless.
His attention was caught by this, and he lifted his head to look at her.
With a sly smile, he continued.
"I prefer it when you are like this, Miss Niles."
'beast' she said inwardly.
"Well, I left some important documents at home, and I have a meeting in an hour."
"So should I go get it? Your address sir-"
"I can't let you into my room. Since you are coming with me, well stop by at my house and get them before going for the meeting." After interrupting, he returned to his documents.
"Pack these up. I'll be waiting for you in the car."he said and walked to the office door.
When he got to the door, he paused and chuckled.
"You probably despise me now, and I anticipate that from every woman I encounter in the future." He said and left.
"Such a maniac" she muttered as she stared at the door.
With haste, she packed up everything, including her personal belongings, and left the company.
She was aware of the looks she was getting as usual, but she ignored them and headed to the packing lot.
When she reached the packed area of his car, the driver opened the door to the back seat.
When she noticed how content he was sitting, she became even angrier and moved his belongings to the back seat before moving to the passenger seat.
The car started and drove off.
He stared at the screen of his phone the entire trip, which was silent.
Her thoughts then drifted to what the doctor had told her, which made her unhappy.
Minutes later, they arrived at the villa.
She was taken out of her thoughts as she admired her surroundings.
The lush villa, surrounded by towering palm trees and colourful gardens, felt peaceful and reminded her of her own home.
They arrived at an automated second gate.
Once they were inside, she sighed and noticed something familiar.
At the mansion's entrance, the vehicle came to a stop.
The mansion itself is a work of architectural art, featuring elaborate carvings, marble columns, and a regal fountain in the courtyard.
Gazing at her reflection in the rearview mirror, he questioned, "Why do I feel like you want us to take a nap here?"
"W-what? I-i'm coming in?" She was startled out of her reverie and asked.
"What kind of question is that? Would you like to take a nap in the car while I get the paperwork? Who is going to hold it? Me?" Ariane closed her eyes when he posed the question.
She tried controlling her emotions before going out of the car. He also got down, and without waiting for her to catch up, he started walking.
Elian furrowed his brows as he heard laughter emanating from the living room.
He got in to see his parents in the living room Eliot and Emery.
He arched an eyebrow at the sophisticated-appearing woman seated beside Emery.
Meanwhile, Ariane couldn't help but admire the living room.
The room was lavishly furnished, with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and floor to ceiling windows providing breathtaking views of the expansive grounds. It's a place where luxury meets elegance.
Then her eyes grew wide as she noticed who was seated in the living room.
'is this some family gathering?' she thought.
'he's really serious about this...and I didn't bother myself so far.' Elian thought quietly, he also remember last night meeting they had with their grandfather about this matter.
He turned and headed for the stairs without saying anything.
Ariane was startled, jerked to attention, and followed him.
"S-sir" she called out as she tried to catch up.
He expressed his desire not to carry the files and to have her leave his room, so she was not sure if she should follow him there.
The voice caused everyone else in the living room to stop and look in Elian's direction. They noticed a young woman standing behind Elian.
Elian kept on walking ignoring her call and everyone until he heard his mother call his name.
"Elian." The soft call made him stop and turn around which startled Ariane as she was trailing behind him.
She also turned around to see the whole family members staring at them.
Unsure of what to do, she slowly bowed.
"Mom, I have a meeting in a few minutes so I can't wait for long." He said glancing at his watch.
He then turned and walked upstairs but his mother stopped him again.
"Who is she, Elian?" His mother asked, looking puzzled at Ariane.
"Ma'am, I'm his secretar-"
"She's my fiancee' " Elian spoke which left them all in shock.
"F-fiancee'?" His mother repeated to see him grin.
"Excuse us." He said and held her hand before dragging Ariane upstairs.
His words shocked Ariane greatly, especially since he held her hand and made physical contact with her.
