After this brief talk and intimate moment together, they got out of the bathtub and dried themselves off. Then they made their way to the bedroom.
There, they changed into comfy clothes before heading towards the dining area to have dinner together.
Of course, Oliver wanted to have dinner with his parents.
So he turned to head to their room but was stopped by Elle.
"Mr. Oliver, they're not here. Your parents went back to their house, as they wanted to get their things over here as soon as possible." She explained.
"Ohh! When did that happen?" Oliver was a little surprised to hear that.
"When we were having our driving lesson, Mrs. Mia sent me a message. Since you were concentrating, I didn't bring it up at that time." Elle clarified.
Oliver just nodded. He didn't think too much of it. As there were things that needed to be brought over from their house in order to move.
With that said, he changed direction and went towards Anna's room.
"Aunt Anna should be here at least, right?"
Elle nodded at his question. "Yes, she's been busy working in her study room after having her lunch. You can have dinner together, though I have to go and do something for Mr. William."
Oliver was a little disappointed that Elle would not be joining him for dinner, but there was nothing he could do about that.
He and Elle exchanged 'goodbyes' and they parted ways.
Then, he made his way towards Anna's room and knocked on the door.
"Aunt Anna, are you there?" he called out.
"Come in!" Anna answered immediately without a hint of hesitation in her tone.
Oliver smiled and opened the door, entering the room, where he found his aunt sitting on a chair. There were plenty of papers piled up on the table.
Anna didn't look up from her work as she spoke, "What's the matter, Oliver? Do you need something?"
She continued writing with a serious expression.
Oliver could tell that she was busy at the moment, so he kept his voice low as he answered. "It's dinnertime. I thought we could eat together."
Anna stopped writing and glanced at him. Then she glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing that it was indeed time for dinner.
"Hmm..." she hummed and sighed as she put the papers aside and stood up. "Sorry about that. I've always hated eating with my father around. So I tend to have dinner in my room most of the time."
Oliver was surprised by what Anna said but understood why. As during lunch, he felt suffocated, unable to enjoy his food properly.
"I get it. I felt the same during lunch." Oliver nodded his head before a smile came upon his lips. "How about we have dinner here then? I also don't want to dine with Grandfather today after that unpleasant lunch."
Anna let out an amused laugh. "Don't worry, your grandfather's not around for tonight and maybe for a few more days as well. He had his appointment to get a treatment. So, we can have dinner together without worrying about him."
She then got up and stretched her arms upwards before cracking her neck.
This made her breasts rise up and push against the fabric of her top. Oliver's eyes zeroed in on them, but he managed to snap out of it quickly as he didn't want her to think of him in a negative light.
"That's nice to know..." Oliver mumbled as he followed Anna out of the room and to the dining room.
Once they arrived, Oliver sat down next to her and watched as servants brought out their dishes.
The food looked delicious. There was a variety of dishes laid out. The rich aroma of each plate filled the room, making Oliver eager to taste them all.
They enjoyed their dinner together, making small talk and sharing light jokes every once in a while.
Anna seemed to become a different person compared to her serious expression when he first saw her. She was relaxed, laughing with him and talking casually.
However, despite that, Anna had an air of aloofness around her, giving off a vibe of someone who had never opened herself to anyone before.
"Are you always like this? I mean... cold and unapproachable?" Oliver questioned, bluntly speaking his mind.
Anna stopped talking as her body stiffened when she heard him. Then, after a few seconds, she replied, "You're quite direct, aren't you?"
Oliver shrugged, nonchalant as he continued, "I was just wondering, as it feels like you're keeping a wall around yourself and preventing anyone from getting close to you. Which makes me sad to think about... It means you're alone without any friends to lean on."
"Friends...?" Anna murmured, sounding as if she was unfamiliar with the concept.
Then, a bitterness overcame her features, followed by a distant look on her face.
"There were friends in the past, but... that changed when they realized that I have money. Suddenly, they wanted to get close to me because they wanted something in return instead of genuinely liking me and enjoying my company."
Oliver could understand what happened, as money corrupts people's intentions. And he had seen enough drama and movies to realize that sometimes friendship doesn't last long when money is involved.
"You must understand... having money makes you vulnerable in some ways," Anna continued, explaining herself as she was unaware of Oliver's thoughts. "When people come after you, it's not because they want to get to know you and befriend you. It's because they're hoping to gain from being with you."
"And you got burned as a result... Now, you can't trust anyone around you." Oliver concluded, getting her thoughts right.
Anna smiled bitterly. "Pretty much..."
Oliver wasn't happy with the look on her face. He could see that she was hurting deep inside.
"I don't know about friends, but... now you have Mom and me to lean on and be with. No strings attached. We don't want anything from you, and you don't have to worry about any hidden intentions behind our actions. If anything, I want us to become close as we're family," Oliver said with a warm smile, hoping to make his aunt feel better.
"Family, huh?" Anna muttered, feeling moved by his words and finding her heart becoming lighter after having her feelings out there.
Her eyes went over to her nephew, seeing him in a new light as he seemed to care about her in a genuine and warm way.
"Alright... I'll try to be a little more open. But you have to bear with me, as I've been on my own for a long time and haven't had much experience getting along with people."
Anna replied, speaking from her heart and giving in into him.
"That's all I ask," Oliver stated with a wide smile.
