Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 Perfect Plan

Sun Li suddenly startled, a fleeting smile in her eyes. She was certain the patient had a heart condition! She was just waiting for Ya Zhuo to emerge and relinquish the director's position to her. If this Young Master Tan had enough influence, Ya Zhuo might even be fired. Then, the title of the hospital's best doctor would be hers for the taking!

The commotion drew the hospital's security guards, several hefty men now blocking the entrance to the operating room.

The operating room staff were also startled into action, one saying, "This is a restricted area of the operating room, no entry—"

Tan Yanzhe's face, already somber, became thunderous. "No entry? What do you mean, no entry? Immediately have that doctor, An something, stop what she's doing!"

"My father has a heart condition, a heart condition, a heart condition!"

"Tell her to perform heart surgery on my dad right now, or I'll tear down your entire hospital this instant!"

Although the operating room staff were somewhat panicked, prioritizing the patient and with five security guards now in front of them, one managed to say, "The surgery can't be stopped; it's already been in progress for some time!"

Tan Yanzhe became enraged. "Already started? Can't be stopped?"

"You've cut him open! If it's not a pulmonary embolism, were you just planning to sew my dad back up haphazardly? Then tell me the surgery is over?"

Tan Yanzhe was furious to the point of near insanity.

Though a reckless man, he was deeply filial. He understood that he could act so brazenly only because he was Tan Wu's son. If his father were to die just like that, the problems he would face couldn't be solved merely by acting tough or cursing someone out.

Wen Ya didn't know Miss An Yan's actual skill level, but Miss An Yan was now under her protection, and she had to do her job well.

Wen Ya stepped forward, positioning herself in front of the security guards, directly facing Tan Yanzhe.

Tan Yanzhe cocked his head. "Who are you?"

Wen Ya replied, "The person performing the surgery inside is my young lady. Please, sir, trust her judgment."

Tan Yanzhe sneered. "Your young lady? Didn't you hear what the other doctor said? Your young lady operating on my dad in there is just a rookie who hasn't even graduated from college!"

Sun Li scoffed disdainfully, reminding him, "Young Master Tan, she has a bodyguard, and the car she drove is a Cullinan. You might want to think twice before offending someone you can't afford to."

Sun Li's words directly hit Tan Yanzhe's sore spot. With his father's life on the line, there was no one Tan Yanzhe wouldn't dare offend!

"Men, charge in!"

"I refuse to believe there's any surgery in this world that can't be stopped!"

As he moved, his group of bodyguards sprang into action. They were well-trained and had superior numbers. Even though Wen Ya was a capable fighter, two fists are no match for many.

Left with no choice, Wen Ya pressed the emergency contact button. Once pressed, Li Han would receive the message immediately. As long as Ninth Master knew, Miss An Yan would be fine, even if she caused an earth-shattering disaster.

As Tan Yanzhe forced his way in, staff immediately locked the doors of dozens of operating rooms. Surgeries not yet underway were paused. Those already in progress were halted if possible; otherwise, available staff guarded the doors.

In An Yan's operating room, as a staff member was about to lock the door, An Yan said, "Don't lock it! If we lock our door too, we'll just divert the danger to the other operating rooms!"

Ya Zhuo frowned. "Professor An, what if—"

"Trust me!"

An Yan's composure made Ya Zhuo subconsciously choose to obey. The footsteps grew closer.

The nurse at the door, her face pale with nervousness, saw Tan Yanzhe arrive and quickly warned, "Sir, the surgery is at a critical stage. If you enter, you'll bring in bacteria. Once an infection occurs, even the most skilled doctor will be powerless to reverse it. So please, try to calm down—"

Before she could finish, Tan Yanzhe pushed the door open.

Inside the operating room, seven personnel were dressed in surgical gowns. Four people stood before the operating table; the one in the center was indeed an outrageously young girl. Her exposed eyes were exquisitely beautiful, her long eyelashes lowered.

But at this moment, Tan Yanzhe was in no mood to appreciate beauty. The man on the operating table was his own father!

"Stop! Stop immediately!" Tan Yanzhe shouted.

An Yan didn't stop. Not only did she not stop, her movements didn't even falter. The hand holding the needle holder was as steady as an old dog, continuing to suture the pleura, one stitch at a time. This was the first step in closing the chest cavity post-surgery. After closing the pleura, the next step was the muscle layer. As long as that layer was closed, the surgery would be relatively complete. The remaining two layers could be stitched by any medical student.

Tan Yanzhe couldn't believe that such a pretty young girl would dare to ignore him at a time like this.

His rage boiling over, he suddenly snatched a scalpel from a nearby cart and pressed it against An Yan's neck. "I told you to stop! Didn't you hear me?"

Watching the operating room surveillance, Lin Shang couldn't help but feel smug again. An Yan, go ahead and don't stop if you dare! He had even planned what he would do after An Yan's death. He would go and sincerely offer his condolences. Using his best acting skills, he would make An Zhongbo believe his feelings for An Yan were genuine. He would convince An Zhongbo to let him 'marry' An Yan's memorial tablet. That way, he would cultivate an image of deep affection while also securing ties with the An Family. Crucially, a dead person couldn't possibly object to him marrying someone else. He, Lin Shang, could marry into two top-tier families all by himself! Simply perfect!

To his disappointment, An Yan did stop. With the needle holder suspended in mid-air, her voice was cold as she said, "It's not that I don't want to stop, but your actions are likely to cause an infection in the patient. Under these circumstances, all I can do is minimize exposure—"

Tan Yanzhe sneered, pressing his mouth close to An Yan's ear, and said malevolently, word by word, "Shut up! I'm not here to listen to your excuses!"

"My dad has coronary heart disease! I demand you start coronary surgery immediately! Do you hear me clearly?"

An Yan showed no sign of fear and calmly replied, "His heart does not need surgery at the moment! Please trust the judgment of us professionals!!"

"Cut the nonsense! If you can't do it, call someone who can."

Tan Yanzhe always remembered what Sun Li had told him. As long as the heart issue was resolved, other problems would naturally be solved as well.

Seeing An Yan remain silent, he pressed the knife down further. "Hurry up!"

The sharp blade sliced through her skin, on the verge of cutting a major artery—
