The group saw Wufu do this, so they all chopped some vines and tossed them over, pulling everyone out of the swamp.
As for Chi San, there was something unknown biting his foot. Wufu swung a knife down, and that thing let out a sharp scream, loosened its grip, and quickly escaped, leaving half of its body writhing on the ground.
Wufu and Chi San were both dumbfounded, and everyone else who saw it looked grim too.
"What...what is that?" Chi San's face turned pale.
Wufu said irritably, "How would I know what it is? If I knew everything, I'd be a god!"
She had witnessed the power of the jungle but wasn't familiar with every strange creature out there. This eerie thing, able to escape even after being chopped in two, was something she had never seen before. The only other creature capable of surviving after losing a tail was a gecko, right?
"This place is too mysterious." Ah Jiu walked over and said.
Wufu nodded and asked Chi San, "How do you feel? Does it hurt?"
