As the sun descended behind the horizon, the village sky turned golden-orange, casting long shadows across the uneven streets of Golden Lake. The fruit stalls began to close, vendors calling out their last offers in tired voices, while the smell of ripened fruit lingered in the air. Among them, the old lady Zennin quietly packed her vegetables. Her movements were steady, calm, yet carried the weariness of a long day. She reached for the wooden trolley placed beside her stall and carefully set the remaining fruits and vegetables inside it, making sure nothing was bruised or wasted.
