She decided to file away the thought of failing to give Anthony something on this special day.
"So, how long have you been here?" she asked, as she was curious.
He had decided to reveal himself only when she had wished him a happy birthday in a low tone. This meant he had definitely been there for a while now. Days, perhaps.
"I arrived about six hours ago or so, at the exact moment you were scrubbing your last toilet."
Anthony replied in a calm tone, not hiding his time of arrival.
Vega remained silent for a moment, then looked around like she were searching for someone. After a moment, she stopped looking, as she knew she couldn't exactly find anyone.
"What are you looking around for?"
Anthony asked, as he also couldn't help looking around.
"My parents. Knowing them, I'm sure they're hanging around, spying on me from another planet, a star, or something of the sort."
Vega answered without hiding her thoughts.
