Everyone around her appeared momentarily confused. They couldn't quite understand why Aura Nova was both apologizing to the spirit and thanking him at the same time. To them, the two actions seemed contradictory, yet her tone carried nothing but genuine respect.
"It's fine, and you're welcome," Romulus replied. His voice was regal and authoritative, imbued with the natural dominance of a higher existence, yet there was a faint softness beneath it. Although he was undeniably prideful, Romulus possessed a subtle fondness for beautiful and capable women, Aura Nova included. That fondness, however restrained, was the sole reason he had intervened earlier to save her.
