The silence that followed this pronouncement was heavy with tension. Baby Nova, apparently sensing the mood change, stopped babbling and looked around with concerned baby eyes.
"Stripped of his abilities?" Samantha's voice rose to a pitch that suggested her protective mama-bear instincts were kicking into high gear. "Exiled? Are you completely insane?"
Tiny-dragon-Draven's amber eyes widened at being called insane by what was essentially a supernatural soccer mom holding a baby. "I beg your pardon?"
"You heard me," Samantha said, her voice gaining the kind of dangerous edge that made ancient beings step back and werewolves remember they had somewhere else to be. "You want to punish him for choosing love over murder?"
"Well, when you put it like that..." Draven said, his tiny voice carrying a note of uncertainty.
