Chapter 431 - First Trip

By the time Nova had been soothed back to sleep and the glitter, pawprints, and scorch marks of the morning were erased from the lawn, their new home had finally slipped into something resembling calm.

Almost.

Samantha sat at the kitchen table, clutching a mug of lukewarm tea like it was her last defense against entropy. Sage was opposite her, calm as ever, reading a scroll of wards with the disinterested poise of someone reviewing yesterday's news. Morgana lounged nearby with her own coffee, smirking like the chaos earlier had only served to make her morning more entertaining.

Kai broke the fragile silence by clapping his hands together. "You know what we need?"

Marcus looked up from the blade he was sharpening, brow arched. "A stronger perimeter."

"New landscaping," Callum muttered, not even lifting his eyes from the book he was reading.
