Once the townspeople had filed outside, closing the door behind them, the members of the household gathered in a tight circle.
"It could be a trap," Callum said immediately, his tactical mind already running through threat assessments.
"It could," Luna agreed, settling into one of the armchairs with the casual grace of someone who'd witnessed countless similar situations. "But I know Dorothy. She's many things, but deceptive isn't one of them."
"They're asking us to become officially involved in town defense," Kai observed, pacing the length of the living room. "That's not a small commitment. We're talking about being on call for supernatural emergencies."
