Samantha felt heat flood her cheeks. "What was I dreaming about?"

"Us," he said simply. "All of us. Though your subconscious has remarkably creative ideas about what's physically possible."

"Marcus!" she hissed, mortified, which only made his quiet laughter rumble through his chest.

"I'm not complaining. Merely observing that your imagination is impressive."

Behind her, Kai stirred. "Are we talking about Sam's dreams? Because I've been awake for like ten minutes and they've been very entertaining."

"You too?" Samantha groaned, burying her face in Marcus's shoulder. "This bond is going to kill me. I can't even have private dreams anymore."

"Consider it motivation to make your dreams reality," Kai suggested, his voice still sleep-rough but carrying that familiar teasing edge. "We're very accommodating."

"It's nine in the morning," she protested weakly.
