"Good morning! I'm sorry I woke up so late!" After packing her belongings and tying her signature straw hat with its distinctive drawstring, Yellow emerged from the tent and spoke apologetically.
"It's fine. Breakfast was just finished. Come join us!" Ash and Brock didn't mind at all. It was still quite early, and they were simply accustomed to rising with the sun.
"Okay!!"
The four of them gathered around to eat breakfast together. Brock had prepared sandwiches this morning, and not only did the four travelers enjoy them, but the Pokémon clearly loved them as well.
"Mmm~~ Everything Brock makes is so delicious!" Yellow was full of praise, having already been impressed by Brock's cooking the previous night.
"Of course! I carefully select all the ingredients, and the bread is handmade by me. Both humans and Pokémon love it!"
Brock was absolutely confident in his culinary skills, and you could tell just by observing the Pokémon's enthusiastic reactions.
"By the way, what are your plans next, Yellow?" Misty asked while taking a bite of her sandwich.
"Me??" Yellow's head lowered slightly after hearing the question, looking somewhat downcast.
During their conversation yesterday, she had learned that Ash and the others were heading to Viridian City, and she had just come from there.
Although she was reluctant to part ways with them, she couldn't very well go back, could she? And even if she suggested it, would Ash mind? These thoughts swirled through Yellow's mind, and she didn't know how to respond.
"Honestly, I haven't really thought about what to do next! After all, I only just started traveling, and I'm worried I won't handle things well."
"That's perfectly normal! Don't worry about it—just take your time figuring things out!"
"Yeah!!" Yellow nodded in agreement, though she still felt uncertain about what to say.
Pika!!
Compared to Yellow's current confusion, her Chuchu was getting along wonderfully with the other Pokémon. Pikachu picked up a piece of his sandwich and offered it to the smaller Pikachu.

Chuchu felt a bit shy, but couldn't hide the happiness on her face when she saw the sandwich Pikachu was offering. She reached out to accept it, but at that very moment...
Whoosh!!!
A figure rushed past at incredible speed. Pikachu was caught off guard as the sandwich vanished from his grasp. Chuchu was equally startled.
Seeing that the sandwich Pikachu had given her was gone, Chuchu's expression crumbled. She looked utterly heartbroken, with tears welling up in her eyes. Pikachu immediately panicked when he saw this reaction, feeling completely helpless.
Chatter chatter!!!
Just then, everyone heard a distinctive cry. Turning around, they spotted a purple figure standing not far from the camp, holding the stolen sandwich.
A pair of enormous front teeth were working constantly as the Pokémon quickly devoured the entire sandwich.
Pika pika pika!!!
Pikachu's expression darkened when he witnessed this scene, and he pointed at the culprit with obvious displeasure, his voice noticeably deeper than usual.
But when the thief heard Pikachu's angry voice, instead of showing any shame or fear, it used its paws to pull down its eyelids and stuck out its tongue mockingly.
Pika chu!!
Pikachu grew even more furious at this blatant disrespect and looked ready to spring into action. Ash and the others also noticed the commotion.
"That's... a Rattata??" Misty said uncertainly.
"A Rattata? This is the first time I've seen one in the wild!"
Yellow couldn't help but comment. In the past, all the Rattata she had seen in Viridian City belonged to Trainers and seemed quite friendly.
She hadn't expected wild Rattata to have such bold attitudes. She stepped forward and scooped up the dejected Chuchu, gently stroking her back to comfort her.
But Rattata continued its taunting behavior toward Pikachu. This cocky attitude even made Charizard and Scizor nearby feel irritated.
They had never seen such an arrogant little Pokémon in all their experience! A tiny Rattata stealing food and then having the audacity to act so smug about it.
"By the way, Yellow, do you want to try catching it?" Ash suddenly suggested after observing the scene.
"Huh? Catch it? I... can I? I don't have any experience at all with that."
Yellow was taken aback by Ash's suggestion and immediately became nervous and uncertain.
"It's okay! Nobody does everything perfectly at first. I'll be right here to help you."
It was clear that Yellow didn't have much confidence in herself yet. Ash had asked her on impulse if she wanted to try catching Rattata, hoping to help build her self-assurance.
"That's a great idea! We'll help too!" Brock and Misty chimed in supportively.
Looking at the three of them, Yellow's expression gradually shifted from anxious to determined. Then she looked down at Chuchu in her arms.
"Chuchu, what do you think?" Yellow gazed at her partner. Although they were companions, they hadn't actually battled together in all this time!

After hearing Yellow's words, Chuchu's expression suddenly became serious. She leaped from Yellow's arms to the ground, dropping into a battle-ready stance and responding with action rather than words.
"Alright! Then let's do this together!" Seeing Chuchu's determined reaction, Yellow stood up as well, silently encouraging herself.
Ash's Pikachu stepped aside when he saw this, clenching his paws into fists to cheer on Yellow's Chuchu.
With Pikachu's encouragement, Chuchu's eyes became even more focused, and Yellow positioned herself behind her partner.
"First, you need to battle to wear down Rattata's stamina!" Ash explained as Yellow steeled her resolve.
"Right... but what should I do?"
"Pikachu are skilled with Electric-type moves."
Ash stood off to the side offering guidance, but he only provided hints rather than explicit instructions. Otherwise, it wouldn't truly be Yellow's own battle.
"Electric-type moves? Of course! Chuchu, use Thunder Shock!"
Following Ash's hint, Yellow began consciously directing her own Pikachu in combat.
After hearing the command, Chuchu immediately acted according to Yellow's instruction. Electricity crackled across her body, then discharged directly toward Rattata's position.
