Chapter 339 - Rama's Wish

Far away, in a different kingdom, people were very superstitious towards the Awakened. They thought their power was a curse, or that they were the spawn of some evil god. This was especially true for healers.

Healers were rare now, They were even rarer in ancient times and they were feared even more. In many places, being healed by them was considered being corrupted by an evil god, and so they were often killed by the locals.

But even among them, if there was someone who could heal any wound, regenerate other's limbs, and even bring the dead back to life, that person was considered the biggest threat of all.

Right now, that same person, the best healer in history, was hanging by a big cross. His arms had nails dug into them, and the same went for his feet. A huge spear was piercing his abdomen, keeping him attached to the wooden cross.

The man had a normal black beard and long, slightly curly black hair that reached his shoulders, and black eyes. He was Yeshua, often called Jesus Christ.

It was evening. The sun was setting, painting the sky in shades of orange and red. In the surroundings, there were many guards and locals.

Many threw rocks at him, and many spat just by seeing his face. Some parents blocked their children's eyes, not wanting them to see such a gruesome sight.

"Burn this incarnation of the evil god alive!" one soldier yelled as he threw a rock that hit Yeshua directly in the face.

"No, let him stay as he is. He'll die by starving, or little by little his flesh will tear apart from its own pressure. This is a much more befitting punishment for him!" another one added with a cruel smile.

Many liked the second man's idea more. Seeing him die slowly, bit by bit, seemed much more satisfying.

But all of them froze at once. The world as if stopped moving. The reality in front of them cracked, and Shiva walked out of it.

Jesus chuckled lightly, a drop of fresh blood dripping from his beard. "To think you would come here to meet me personally. I'm not even a constellation," he said, his voice surprisingly calm.

"A wish. I came here to give you a wish!" Shiva said as he looked around at the hateful crowd and rubbed his chin.

"Hmm... If you wanted, you could escape or attack them at any time. Yet why let them play with your life? Ahem... Well, I shouldn't ask a person questions!" Shiva immediately ended the topic, realizing it was befitting his status nor his persona.

Jesus only chuckled, a quiet, knowing sound. "This is just my way of handling things!" he replied.

"So what is your wish? Unless it's immortality or something at that level, I'll grant it," Shiva said, his voice echoing with power. "If you want to safely become a constellation or need more knowledge, anything is possible."

"A wish, you say," Jesus replied, his voice soft but clear. "What am I supposed to do by becoming a constellation? My main goal was to make others happy. No matter how cruel they are to me, for them, only kindness resides in my heart."

"Then you can make a wish for them to accept you, or all healers!" Shiva said calmly.

"Then there will be no difference between me and those guys who spread superstition for their own benefit and to manipulate other's minds!" Jesus replied firmly.

The medicine market was a huge industry. With so many unknown illnesses and pandemics coming out of nowhere, and people getting injured every day, the demand for medicine and herbs was all over the world. But when healers came, they could heal without any medicine and even give much better medicine than one could find in the market. This was one of the most core reasons why many corporate leaders used superstition and promoted it for their own benefit.

Jesus thought for a few seconds. A wave of nostalgic feelings washed through his body, a warm ache of a fond memory.

"Maybe if I could meet that boy once again, one last time. Even if it's just in his dream!" Jesus said to himself, his voice barely a whisper.

"Are you sure you want to wish that? To wish for something so ordinary that even you can do it yourself? This is clearly an insult to me!" Shiva replied, and there was a slight anger in his voice.

"No, no, I wouldn't dare," Jesus replied immediately. He thought for a few more seconds, and his eyes slightly lit up as he raised his head a little.

"Rama. He is one of the strongest yet most humble guys I have ever met. I learned about his works and his daring missions. He is an ideal warrior of everyone's dream. I think he deserves this wish more than me," Jesus said with a humble, genuine smile.

"Compared to him, I'm just a wandering healer. Whatever his wish is will be my wish!" he added.

Slap!

Shiva couldn't help but slap his own forehead in frustration before disappearing again.

---

Rama sat in the shadow of the same tree. In front of him, Shiva also sat cross-legged, his giant cosmic body strangely fitting in the peaceful scene.

"So that's why you are here again?" Rama exhaled, a tired smile on his face as he heard the whole situation from Shiva.

"I think if you go to Buddha again—" Rama was saying, but Shiva immediately cut him off.

"No! You need to make a wish right now!" There was a clear hint of anger and frustration in his voice.

"Okay, okay, no need to be so angry!" Rama raised his hands in a surrendering gesture.

He rubbed his chin, thinking hard. "Hmm... If it was just for my sake, it wouldn't have been so hard. But when you think of benefiting the entire world, things can get really messy!" Rama thought, and decided to make a simple wish.

"How about this? Those who finally realize their mistakes and have regret towards their decisions and a willingness to atone for them can receive a second chance to go to heaven?" Rama asked.

But then Shiva shook his head. "For that, the Judgment Gate already exists. They take any complicated souls and judge if they should go to heaven or hell!"

"Hmm, that's also true," Rama muttered, a little disappointed.

After thinking for more than a few seconds, another idea sparked in his mind.

"Then how about this? Whoever regrets their decisions, even if it's in their very last moments of death, and says my name, they'll go to the Judgment Gate to receive one last chance for heaven?" Rama asked, a hopeful look in his eyes.

"That's a good idea," Shiva said, his tone thoughtful. "But once everyone knows about it, people would commit terrible crimes and just shout your name in their last moments to get a second chance, even after all the terrible things they did!"

He continued, his voice serious, "Although they still have to atone for what they did, wouldn't this just make all those innocent lives that they killed meaningless? Hell is much better place for them."

"Indeed," Rama said, his face falling as he fell into a deep thought, the weight of the problem settling on him.

After a moment of silence, his expression brightened with resolve. "Then this will be final. If any bad person finally dies in the hands of a good person, and in their last moments, if they either shout my name, Buddha's, or Jesus's name, they'll go to the Judgment Gate for a trial!"

"Also," he added, "if one dies of old age and in their later years, they dedicate some of their daily time to saying one of our names, they will be too granted a second chance!" Rama finally made his final wish, a sense of peace washing over him.

Although it was a bit long and complicated, Shiva didn't mind it at all.

Shiva raised his hand with a warm, approving smile. "As you wish!"

At once, a brilliant radiance flew into the air. A magnificent rainbow appeared across the sky. A radiance of different colors, wonderful and pure lights, spread across the heavens as if a new, fundamental rule was being written into nature itself.

The next moment, Rama's, Yeshua's, and Buddha's soul level immediately dropped from their celestial to the Genesis Soul level. In the same instant, Shiva disappeared without any trace.
