With the crowd agreeing on three months, those left to decide were the some of the neutrals, and the Mertens and Ross families. The pro-Noah camp would naturally go with whatever decision Noah made.
Of the two large families, Noah's attention was more on the Mertens. Not only was this because the Mertens was the leader of their alliance, but because Noah wanted to know the choice of his godfather.
The Mertens representatives didn't know what to say. The original plan from the family head was to divide them into two; three of the representatives would remain neutral while the other two would side with the pro-Noah camp. Unlike the other family representatives, the Mertens didn't have an obvious central figure —a move planned by Russell from the start. As such, the split would successfully confuse others of their plan, and Noah was no different.
