Eiji arrived at the Viscount's mansion, he didn't really know which way it was, but after asking a few people passing by, he then finally arrived at the place he was looking for.
"Hmm?"
When Eiji arrived, he saw that the whole mansion was bustling with activity!
There were many people coming in and out of the property gates bringing in various items and exotic foods.
' It seemed like I arrived at a time where they might have a guest coming or some sort of party!'
Eiji mused to himself, but this did not deter Eiji in the slightest though! Regardless if they are about to host a party or something, Eiji was here to question and see if they really did dare to execute Renji!
Despite not seeing Renji when he initially arrived, and even when he knew that there was a very very small chance of Renji not being executed, Eiji still clung unto a smallest amount of hope that he was fine and was just confined within the viscount's property, waiting for someone to rescue him, or them!
"Uhmm.. excuse me!"
Eiji called out to one of the female servant that was carrying a box of vegetables.
"Huh?! Yes?!"
The servant replied at Eiji softly, slightly startled.
Eiji frowned at how timid the female servant was. She looked very thin and had dark bags under her eyes.
She was clearly not having the best of time working in the mansion. And looking at the other servants busying about, they looked pretty much the same as her, with only the swordsmen around who looked energetic and strong.
There was a clear difference with their treatment!
"I wanted to ask if the Viscount is in right now? I want to talk to him!"
Despite this, Eiji still have something to do!
Besides, if Eiji confirmed what he was afraid of, then... These servants will be free today!
When Eiji finished his sentence, the servant was puzzled at first then she looked at him from head to toe and then saw the katana at his waist.
"Ah!"
She then remembered that the Viscount recently was recruiting swordsmen to become their vassal or part of his personal army!
"Hey! What's happening here?!"
Then a voice called out to them, as one of the swordsmen guarding the gates overseeing the situation saw them talking.
The man was tall and had a moustache in his face.
He had a tanned skin and a sharp looking eyes along with a good body build, clearly still in his prime, despite looking like in his middle ages.
"Uhmm sir! This person right here wants to talk with the viscount, and I think he might want to become a vassal!"
"Oh?!"
The Swordsman was intrigued, he waved his hand to the servant, who bowed and hurriedly carried the items she was carrying towards the mansion.
"Good! Good! Come! come! Let me see your strength first! Don't worry! Even if you're not that strong yet, We can help you get stronger as long as you swear loyalty of your sword to the master, Viscount Ikeda!"
The vassal swordsman passionately said.
Eiji frowned at the Vassal swordsman and felt like he was misunderstood.
"Hmm?? What's wrong?!"
The vassal swordsman saw Eiji's frown, and he thought that maybe Eiji thinks that he was being underestimated, but over the years, he had encountered a lot of over confident and narcissistic wondering swordsmen that thinks they are the best there is, well, that is until he shows them his strength, where they'd become much more obedient!
For Eiji though, it was becoming a hassle, he doesn't want to get stuck up in here with this guy, besides..
'This guy has decent strength and from the looks around the people they are giving to him, he should have quite a high status among the swordsmen here!'
Thinking so, Eiji just then straight up asked the man!
"I want to talk to Viscount Ikeda! I want to know if he really did executed Renji Barto! And I want to ask About Ryuko Shibai as well as her family!"
*SWOOOSHH!!!
Before Eiji could even finish his sentence, the man's demeanor had already changed.
The place felt like it was plunged in ice from the man's sudden coldness!
Gone was the enthusiastic and passionate uncle, and maybe this cold and sneering face was the real face of this vassal swordsman!
"What?! Are you related to that traitor!?"
He looked at Eiji condescendingly.
"TRAITOR?!!"
Eiji angrily asked.
"Hmmp! Yes! Traitor! That kid Renji Barto, had abandoned a mission given by the kingdom and he even slandered the son of a noble and what's worse?!
He attacked the viscount right here! If he is not a traitor, then what is he!?"
As the Vassal swordsman talked, he sneakily gave a sign towards the swordsman that was looking at them.
That swordsman nodded his head and started running inside the mansion, slipping away, and was clearly reporting the situation to the Viscount.
"Abandoning a mission?! Slandering the son of a viscount and then attacking the Viscount himself?!"
Eiji nearly laughed out loud at the so called crimes he was stating!
Eiji knew Renji's side of the story, he may not know the full details as to why this had happened, but from what had Renji told him a while back, this was because of that Ikeda Hiroshi!
And from the way nobles schemes and does things typically, Eiji knew that Renji fell into their trap!
A vicious and cunning trap!
Dealing alone with that man would've been easy with Renji's strength but with the Viscount being involved, Maybe Renji was unable to hold back after all....
