The bat maintained a precarious distance, as if it might get caught but always just out of reach. I too swung my sword as carefully as I could, trying not to get injured any further. This ridiculous chase continued for a while until it suddenly came to an end the moment we reached a certain spot. I stared blankly at the bat flapping frantically into the air, retreating in a panic. For some reason, I felt a little embarrassed.
Anyway, with the bat gone, it meant I had more or less arrived at the place where they were up to something. Should I ambush them now? Had they laid a trap? Or maybe they had some other plan? With a mixture of excitement and anticipation, I waited for them to show themselves.
"..."
Rustle... rustle rustle…
Cold wind shook the bushes and leaves several times, then passed. But even after minutes had gone by, they still didn't appear. I was tempted to use magic detection or my third eye right away, but managed to barely restrain myself. Just as I was about to frown, wondering what in the world was going on—
"...!"
"Huff... huff…"
A faint moan drifted to my ears, carried by the wind. It sounded like someone crying out, but strangely elated. Labored, uneven breathing. Drawn by that sound, I slowly began to move forward. Pushing through the dense underbrush, I saw a small clearing ahead, partially visible through the foliage.
The clearing was surrounded by large rocks and tall trees. I slowly surveyed the terrain, getting a feel for the surroundings. The strategy was idiotic, but these guys seemed to have at least some basic knowledge of ambush tactics. I took a deep breath to steady myself and closed the distance to the clearing even further. And then, what appeared before my eyes was…
"Ahhh! N-no! Stop! Please, stop!"
"Huff, huff, huff, huff!"
"Please… stop… I beg you… please forgive me!"
"Huff, huff! Shut your mouth, huh? Huff, huff!"
I stared at the scene unfolding before me, speechless. A strange, heated sensation coursed through my entire body. In the clearing, a male player was raping a female player.
The female player was on her hands and knees, pressed against the ground. But because the male player was yanking her hair, her head was forced upward. Tears of desperation streamed from her eyes, and she endlessly pleaded for mercy, but the male player behind her showed no trace of compassion, thrusting his hips with relentless ferocity.
"Ahh! Ahhh! N-no! Stop! Ugh!"
"Slap, slap."
The lascivious sound of flesh colliding filled the clearing. The man, seemingly irritated by the woman's moans, used his free hand to cover her mouth. Then, pulling his hips back, he thrust forward again with force. The woman's anguished cries slipped through the gaps between his fingers.
For a while, the man moved his hips roughly, panting like a beast, until finally, as if a signal had come, he pressed his hips tightly against the woman's. His entire body began to tremble.
"Ha… that was good."
"Ugh… sob… ngh…"
Each time the man's body shuddered, the woman's body twitched intermittently. Having apparently finished, the man lingered for a moment, savoring the aftermath, before releasing the hair he'd been gripping and standing up. At the same time, the woman collapsed to the ground. Between her slightly parted thighs, her reddened vagina was visible, and a few streams of white fluid dripped onto the ground. It was a pitiful sight.
I stood there watching them silently, then took a step forward.
"Who's there?!"
Deliberately making my presence known, the man, who had been smirking, turned his head and shouted sharply. Since it no longer mattered, I immediately activated my Third Eye.

"You bastard. How long have you been standing there?"
"Near the end. By the way, this situation…"
After quickly scanning their information, I raised my sword overhead. As I shot a wary glance, Kim Seung-Beom immediately raised both hands and shook his head.
"Whoa, whoa, friend. Calm down for a sec and listen to me. First, put the sword down."
"I've got nothing to hear from a rapist."
"Goddamn it, it's a misunderstanding. Here's how this happened…"
"Run! This guy's a fucking vagrant!"
Just as Kim Seung-Beom tried to continue, Choi Joo-Hyun, who had been lying still as if dead, screamed loudly. She snapped her head up and shouted again.
"Don't listen to this guy! He's not alone! His buddies are nearby… Argh!"
"You crazy bitch, shut your mouth!"
Kim Seung-Beom immediately kicked her, and Choi Joo-Hyun took the blow straight to her face. As she screamed and clutched her face, he pressed his foot down on her and growled in a low voice.
"Fucking hell… I'm done. "Spit"."
I wondered what kind of reaction I'd get if I said, "Alright, I'll go. See ya," and turned to leave. But that wasn't an option, and with a tenser expression, I aimed my sword.
"As expected, you're filthy vagrants. Shameless bastards."
"Hmph. Fine, I'll admit it. I'm a vagrant. But I've got no interest in fighting you."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
When I narrowed my eyes and questioned him, I saw the guy swallow hard. Alright, let's hear what kind of bullshit he's about to spew.
"You… aren't you one of the players who left Mule a few days ago?"
"H-How do you…"
As I widened my eyes in surprise, Kim Seung-Beom, with a knowing look, tapped his foot on Choi Joo-Hyun, who was still pinned under him.
"Cutting to the chase, you guys were being tailed. By these bitches."
"Tailed?"
"Yeah. Eight players formed a caravan and were secretly following your group. And we didn't come for you—we followed "their" group and ambushed them. You can probably guess why they were tailing you, right? In a way, we're practically your group's saviors."
"W-Wait, so that woman's caravan was planning to attack us?"
"Maybe. Or they could've been planning to stab you in the back once you excavated some dungeons."
After Kim Seung-Beom finished, I looked at the woman with disbelief. She avoided my gaze with a flustered expression, and I clenched my jaw. Noticing my reaction, Kim Seung-Beom continued in an even slicker tone.
"Look, I'm not gonna talk about gratitude between players and vagrants. But let's avoid a pointless fight, yeah? Honestly, we took some losses dealing with these bitches. We've already achieved our goal, and you get to walk away without dirtying your hands while cutting off the tail. If you want a fight, I won't stop you. But this way, it's good for both of us, like a win-win. So let's just back off."
"Hmm."
I let out a low groan and slightly lowered my sword. Kim Seung-Beom smirked and nodded, while Choi Joo-Hyun looked at me with conflicted eyes. Then, I saw her lips slowly part.
"Don't fall for it! The vagrants with this guy aren't that badly hurt. One or two at most. We got taken down almost instantly, overwhelmingly. Don't let your guard down, no matter what… Ugh!"
Choi Joo-Hyun couldn't finish. Kim Seung-Beom kicked her again. As she curled up in pain, he spat out harsh curses. She looked so pitiful and wretched that I decided it was time to play along. Dragging this out any longer would just turn it into a fucking comedy skit.
"Enough, vagrant."
"Click!"
I raised the sword I'd lowered, aiming it firmly. Kim Seung-Beom, who'd been eagerly kicking her (and by the way, those weren't fake hits—guess he had a lot of pent-up resentment toward Choi Joo-Hyun), turned to me with hollow eyes.
"What's that sword? Didn't we agree to settle this nicely?"
"They taught us at the Player Academy: never compromise with vagrants."
"Ha. This is why year 0 rookies are such a pain. No flexibility. None."
He slipped up. No need to mention I'm a year 0 player. That little mistake wiped away any lingering doubts in my mind. Now, I had no reason to hold back.
"I don't exactly see that player in a good light either, like you said. But either way… you're definitely the
"What? If you're so eager to get fucked up, I won't stop you. Don't regret it… Ugh?!"
Kim Seung-Beom shrugged his shoulders and bent down. It seemed he was about to gather the clothes and gear he had taken off. Just as his hand was about to touch a slender sword, his body suddenly tilted.
"This bitch?!"
The moment he saw me aiming my sword again, Choi Joo-Hyun swiftly stretched out both arms and grabbed Kim Seung-Beom's legs. He fell with an exaggerated thud, and Choi Joo-Hyun seized the chance to quickly snatch the weapon and scatter the gear.
"…Haa."
I let out a quiet sigh. The fact that he fell so dramatically just from having his legs grabbed, and that the sword she picked up was unusually thin for a weapon used by a male. It felt like it was better to stop thinking altogether.
Choi Joo-Hyun staggered but stood up resolutely, and I responded by slowly closing the distance with the guy. Kim Seung-Beom, with quick movements, got back on his feet and leaped backward. The sight of his private parts dangling was far from pleasant.
For a while, a tense silence hung between me, Choi Joo-Hyun, and Kim Seung-Beom. We were holding weapons, while Kim Seung-Beom stood there, not only unarmed but completely naked. Finally, grinding his teeth, he spat out the clichéd line, "Damn it, you'll pay for this!" before disappearing into the bushes. As I moved to chase after him, I felt a hand grab my collar.
"Don't go! It could be a trap. He's probably running to where his allies are."
"…Hmm." At her cry, I hesitated and relaxed my stance, abandoning the urge to chase. If I went after him now, it'd likely play right into their hands, but why did she stop me? Sensing some hidden motive, I cautiously turned around. Seeing Choi Joo-Hyun nervously covering herself, I sneered.
"Tch, tch. Must be quite the heartbreak. Why'd you even follow us…?"
When I stared at her with a slightly accusing gaze, Choi Joo-Hyun's face froze, her lips trembling as if she'd lost her words. Then, with a look of genuine regret, she began to cry, tears streaming down.
"I'm sorry… I'm so sorry…"
Practically collapsing, she repeatedly apologized, covering her mouth with one hand as she sobbed. Without me even asking, she started rambling about everything she'd done from the beginning. For someone who'd just been assaulted, her behavior was oddly believable.
A grueling life, day after day. Then she noticed a new player in the Mule, and as the days passed, she grew envious of their ever-improving gear. While secretly tailing us, she and her group were ambushed by a band of vagrants. Her companions were all killed, and she alone survived, forced to become a tool to satisfy the vagrants' desires.
Listening to her, I couldn't help but feel a bit impressed. The guy who lured me here and the one who planned this were clearly different people. I'd bet on it. Otherwise, they couldn't have pulled off such a meticulous scheme.
As Go Yeon-Joo had said, there was definitely a cautious one among them. They weren't just attacking us outright; it felt like they were also aiming for potential gains, like dungeons or artifacts. That's probably why they slipped Choi Joo-Hyun into the mix as a precaution. Of course, I could just abandon her, but that'd be as good as sentencing her to death. They must've banked on the compassion of a rookie player like me. If I left her behind, I'd almost certainly get ambushed on my way back.
They mixed truth with lies and lies with truth. I'd almost praise the script for being well-crafted, but they overlooked a few things: namely, that their opponent was me, and their actors' performances were subpar. In short, a mistake.
I'm a year 10 veteran who's been through every kind of battle—land, sea, air. Having operated in the shadows, I could spot most tricks at a glance. But if I were truly a rookie, or if it wasn't me but some other kids here, they might have been fooled.
"I was too blinded by money and gear… "sob "… But all my comrades died, and the only equipment left… "wail"…"
She broke down, unable to continue, tears streaming pitifully. I gazed at the weeping Choi Joo-Hyun for a moment, then approached slowly with a softened expression.
