Chapter 13 - Part 17

Long ago a never before seen power rose from the imp type demon. His purgatory flames turned from a strong red to crimson, and black.

As the two continued their journey to purgatory, Maestro started to ask questions. He asked Sylvester if he's ever been to purgatory. He chuckled then responded that he's only been there once. Also stating that it was an experience he'll never forget. He then explained that he was exploring the area after hearing so many rumors about it. He saw a couple of other demons entering the area as well, but never saw them leave. He ended up running into a demon dormant to the area who wasn't very happy about his tricks, and forced him to leave.

Sylvester then stated that after leaving purgatory he ended up finding something special. After saying that his facial expression changed as he realized something. He then suggested that they should visit the place he was referring to. Maestro asked where it was, and if it was on the way. Sylvester responded that they would have to go a little bit off track, but it would be worth it. Maestro shrugged his shoulders, and told him to lead the way. Sylvester smiles in joy, and the two continues their walk.

On the way there, they see a bridge made of steel. The bridge connected two landscapes with a river of lava flowing underneath. The two started to walk towards the entrance of the bridge, but they noticed a cloaked demon sitting on the bridge rail. He had a fishing pole with him as he tries to reel up anything he can find. Sylvester was annoyed to see the person here. He whispered to Maestro that they should try to sneak pass him. Maestro was confused, but agreed. The two then attempted to be as quiet as possible as they sneak pass.

After making it halfway across, they heard a snap, and they suddenly feel a pressure similar to gravity. Except it wasn't pushing them down, but holding them in place. With a snap of his fingers the pressure sent them flying back towards the entrance of the bridge. The two tumbled across the ground as the cloaked demon got off the rail, and sat his fishing rod down. He looks at the two as they get up. Grinding his teeth for a second after noticing Sylvester. He then started walking towards them. Maestro dusted himself off while stating how that didn't work. Sylvester added on that it seems like he learned some new tricks. The cloaked demon approached the two, and removed his hood. He has a grey skeletal head with giant horns coming out of his forehead. Sylvester addressed the demon as Arkset, saying his name in a snarky manner.

Arkset stood silent for a moment just to stare at him. Maestro could feel how thin the tension was between them. Arkset then smiles holding back his anger before talking. He stated that it's been a while since they last saw each other. When he tried to take off with his prize possession. Sylvester chuckled stating that the word tried is an understatement, and he would call it a successful attempt. Arkset angrily agreed replying that he was able to leave with half of it. He then unwrapped his cloak which turned out to be his wings, as he revealed his skeletal body with visible blue lines running through it. Maestro's eyes widened as he stare in wonder, and confusion. Sylvester on the other hand was completely baffled by what he was seeing.

He asked Arkset in a concerned manner about what he did to himself. Wrapping his wings back up, he responded that he did what he had to do. He had to make sure no body tries to steal from him again. Sylvester rolled his eyes then whispered to Maestro that it wasn't his in the first place. Arkset overheard that, and got upset immediately. He snapped his fingers forcing the two to the ground. Maestro tried his hardest, but his body wasn't budging. Arkset laughs at the two then stated that they have made a mistake. Stating that this bridge was his domain, and here he is unstoppable.
