Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

In the days that followed their intimate moment, Wang Yibo and Xian Zhan found themselves navigating the intricacies of married life with a newfound sense of closeness and understanding.

Their mornings were filled with stolen kisses and shared breakfasts, each moment reaffirming their love.

At Wang Cooperation, Yibo's dedication to his work remained unwavering. He immersed himself in meetings and strategy sessions, his mind sharper than ever. Yet, amidst the seriousness of corporate decisions, there were moments of lightheartedness that brightened his days.

One afternoon, as Wang Yibo was discussing a new marketing campaign with his team, Ms. Zhang Wei burst into the room with a bundle of papers. "Director Wang, I have the latest financial reports!"

Wang Yibo glanced up, his lips quirking into a smile. "Thank you, Ms. Zhang. You're as efficient as ever."

Ms. Zhang blushed, her gaze lingering on Wang Yibo for a moment longer than necessary. "It's my pleasure, Director Wang," she replied, her tone slightly breathless.

Yu Bin, who was seated nearby, couldn't help but notice the exchange. She stifled a laugh behind her hand, exchanging amused glances with another colleague. It was no secret in the office that Ms. Zhang Wei harbored a crush on her boss, and Yu Bin found himself caught in the middle of the comedic tension.

Meanwhile, at Xian Zhan's studio, creativity flowed freely as he worked on his latest project-a series of paintings inspired by their journey together. He found solace in the rhythmic strokes of his brush, each canvas a testament to the love and passion that fueled his art.

One evening, as Xian Zhan put the finishing touches on a particularly intricate piece, he felt a pair of arms wrap around him from behind. "What do you think?" he asked, turning to find Wang Yibo peering over his shoulder.

Wang Yibo studied the painting, his expression softening. "It's beautiful, Zhan. Just like you."

Xian Zhan chuckled, leaning back against him. "Flattery will get you everywhere, Yibo ge."

They stood together in comfortable silence, the quiet hum of the studio filling the air. It was moments like these-simple, unguarded-that reminded them of the depth of their connection.

As weeks turned into months, their circle of friends and family played an integral role in their lives.

One evening, during a lively dinner party with their closest friends, Wang Yibo couldn't resist stealing glances at Xian Zhan across the room. His husband, surrounded by laughter and animated conversation, looked more radiant than ever. Wang Yibo felt a surge of pride, knowing that Xian Zhan was his-body, heart, and soul.

As the night wore on and guests began to depart, Wang Yibo found himself alone with Xian Zhan on the terrace, the soft glow of string lights casting a magical aura around them. He took Xian Zhan's hand in his, his voice low and tender.

"Zhan, do you remember when we first met? How far we've come since then?"

Xian Zhan smiled, squeezing his hand gently. "I do, Yibo ge. And I wouldn't change a thing."

They stood together in the quiet embrace of the night, their love a beacon of hope and resilience. In each other's arms, they had found not only a partner but a soulmate-a love that transcended time and trials, boundless and everlasting.

And as they leaned in to share a kiss under the stars, their hearts beat as one, their journey together unfolding with each passing moment-a journey of laughter, tears, and most importantly, love.

The mansion was abuzz with excitement and anticipation as Wang Yibo and Xian Zhan prepared for a new chapter in their lives.

Weeks had passed since their intimate confession and the renewal of their bond, and now they stood on the threshold of a profound change-one that would redefine their future together.

It was a serene morning when Xian Zhan emerged from the bathroom, a radiant smile gracing his features. Wang Yibo, seated on the edge of their bed, looked up from his laptop with a curious expression.

"Yibo ge," Xian Zhan began, his voice tinged with joy, "I think... I think I might be pregnant."

Wang Yibo's heart skipped a beat, his eyes widening in disbelief and then filling with unbridled happiness. He stood up abruptly, crossing the room in quick strides to envelop Xian Zhan in a tight embrace.

"Zhan, that's incredible news!" Wang Yibo exclaimed, his voice filled with wonder and excitement. "Are you sure?"

Xian Zhan nodded, tears glistening in his eyes. "I took a test this morning. It's positive."

Overwhelmed with emotion, Wang Yibo held Xian Zhan close, his mind racing with thoughts of the future they would now share. Their journey together had been fraught with challenges and uncertainties, but in this moment, all that mattered was the miracle growing within Xian Zhan.

Later that day, Wang Yibo received a call that would alter the course of his professional life. His father, Mr. Wang, summoned him to a private meeting in his office-an office that had always symbolized power, authority, and the weight of familial expectations.

As Wang Yibo entered the room, he found his father seated behind a massive desk, his expression unreadable. The air was thick with tension as Wang Yibo took a seat opposite him, his heart pounding with anticipation.

"Yibo," his father began, his voice grave yet tinged with a hint of pride, "you have proven yourself worthy of the responsibilities that come with being the CEO of Wang Cooperation."

Wang Yibo listened intently, his pulse quickening with each word.

"After much consideration and deliberation," Mr. Wang continued, "I have decided to fulfill our agreement. You have married Xian Zhan, and now, with the news of an heir on the way, it is time for you to assume the role of CEO."

Wang Yibo's breath caught in his throat. It was a moment he had both anticipated and waiting -the culmination of a pact that had shaped his destiny. Yet, as he glanced down at the wedding ring on his finger and thought of Xian Zhan's smile, he knew that this was not just about duty-it was about love and family.

"I understand, Dad," Wang Yibo replied, his voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside him. "Thank you for this opportunity."

Mr. Wang nodded, a rare smile gracing his features. "You have earned it, Yibo. I have every confidence in your ability to lead."

With that, Wang Yibo rose from his seat, his heart lighter than it had been in years. He left his father's office with a sense of purpose and determination, ready to embrace the challenges and joys that lay ahead.

That evening, as Wang Yibo and Xian Zhan stood together on their balcony, watching the sunset paint the sky in hues of pink and gold, they felt a profound sense of gratitude and hope.

They were embarking on a new chapter together-one filled with love, laughter, and the promise of a growing family.

"I never imagined this day would come," Xian Zhan murmured, leaning into Wang Yibo's embrace.

"Nor did I," Wang Yibo admitted, pressing a kiss to Xian Zhan's forehead. "But I'm grateful it did."

As they stood together, hand in hand, they knew that their love had defied expectations and surpassed every obstacle. And as they looked towards the future, they were certain that with each other by their side, they could face anything that came their way.

"Maa," Xian Zhan said when the door opened. Zhan hugged her. "Ah, Maa, I miss you so much." He kissed her cheek.

"A'Zhan is missed too," she kissed him back on his temple. She continued, "My son is looking radiant and more beautiful. A'Zhan, are you pregnant?" She whispered the last words in his ear.

Zhan smiled shyly and nodded. "Maa, how did you know?" he asked.

She widened her eyes in surprise and leaned back to inspect him clearly. "Don't forget I bathed three children. Of course, I will know when someone is pregnant."

She stroked his hair. "You and your longer hair. How many months or weeks?" she asked.

Zhan grinned and raised seven fingers. "Seven weeks, Maa."

"Oh my, A'Zhan is going to be a father soon." They walked inside the house while she continued asking him, "Hope my son is doing okay?"

Zhan wrapped his hand around her shoulder. "Maa, don't worry, I'm perfectly okay and energetic."

"I hope so...Son, because early-stage pregnancy is complicated, and yours is male pregnancy, that's worrisome," she said. She parted his hand when they reached the living room. "I invited your siblings and their spouses for a family dinner later. You should invite your husband if he's free."

"And you will have to help me cook the dishes, but right now, I need some ingredients. Do you mind going to the shop?"

Xian Zhan beamed at her. "Oh Maa, I will be more than happy to. Come, let's go. Mr. Lee is outside waiting." She grabbed her purse and left the house.

By the way, Xian Zhan pulled out his phone and called Wang Yibo.

"Yibo ge, good afternoon. Are you free tonight?" Xian Zhan asked when Wang Yibo took the call.

"Is my sweetheart missing me?" Wang Yibo asked.

Xian Zhan smiled. "My mother invited you to a family dinner later tonight," he lowered his voice, "and yes, I missed you so much."

Yibo chuckled. "Okay, Zhan, I will see you then. Love you, my bunny wife," he joked.

"Yibo geeee..." Zhan whined. The call ended like that, and Zhan continued chatting with his mother and Mr. Lee. He glanced at the car behind them with two giant men following them.

Oops, nothing to worry about; they are his bodyguards that follow him like a shadow wherever he goes.

Hours later, they were all seated around the dining table, a warm and welcoming spread before them. The soft glow of the chandelier cast a cozy light over the scene. Xian Zhan sat beside Wang Yibo, their hands occasionally brushing as they reached for dishes. Lu Jie and her husband Yu Cheng chatted animatedly with Zhuo Cheng and his wife Mei Ling. Mrs. Xian, with a gentle smile, watched over her family with pride.

"Everything smells wonderful, Maa," Xian Zhan said, taking a deep breath of the delicious aromas wafting from the table.

Mrs. Xian beamed. "Thank you, A'Zhan. It's all your favorites."

As they began to eat, conversations flowed naturally. Zhuo Cheng recounted a funny incident from his recent honeymoon with Mei Ling, causing everyone to burst into laughter.

"I can't believe you actually got lost in your own hotel!" Lu Jie teased.

Zhuo Cheng shrugged with a sheepish grin. "Hey, it was a big place!"

Wang Yibo leaned in close to Xian Zhan and whispered, "This is nice, isn't it? Just being with family."

Xian Zhan nodded, squeezing his husband's hand under the table. "It is. I wouldn't trade it for anything."

Mrs. Xian cleared her throat, drawing everyone's attention. "I just want to say how happy I am to have all of you here tonight. Seeing my children and their spouses together, happy and healthy, is more than I could ever ask for."

Everyone murmured their agreement, raising their glasses in a toast.

"To family," Wang Yibo said, his voice filled with warmth.

"To family," they echoed, clinking their glasses together.

As they continued their meal, the conversations grew more personal. Lu Jie asked Xian Zhan how he was feeling, and he blushed slightly before responding, "I'm doing well, actually. The pregnancy has been smooth so far."

"That's wonderful to hear," Lu Jie said with a genuine smile. "If you need any advice, don't hesitate to ask. I've been through it twice already!"

Lu Jie and Yu Chen have two children, a boy and a girl.

Xian Zhan laughed. "Thank you, Jie. I might take you up on that."

Yu Cheng, who had been listening quietly, spoke up. "Mr. Wang, how's the transition to CEO going?"

Wang Yibo, who had been taking a sip of his drink, smiled. "It's challenging, but I feel ready. Knowing I have Zhan's support makes all the difference."

Mrs. Xian glanced at Wang Yibo with a softened expression. "You seem to be handling everything with grace, Yibo. I'm proud of you."

"Thank you, Maa," Wang Yibo replied, genuinely touched by her words.

As the night went on, the room was filled with laughter, stories, and the comforting sounds of a family coming together. Xian Zhan's heart swelled with happiness, feeling the love and support surrounding him. Even the small, playful arguments between siblings added to the charm of the evening.

At one point, Lu Jie suggested a game they used to play as children, and soon the table was filled with playful banter and friendly competition. Even Mrs. Xian joined in, her laughter mingling with the others.

Finally, as the evening began to wind down, Mrs. Xian stood up, signaling the end of the meal. "I just want to say how grateful I am for each and every one of you. Tonight has reminded me of the importance of family and the love we share."

With hugs and goodbyes exchanged, the family began to disperse, each couple heading back to their own homes. As Wang Yibo and Xian Zhan walked out to their car, hand in hand, they felt a deep sense of contentment.

"Tonight was perfect," Xian Zhan said, resting his head on Wang Yibo's shoulder.

"It was," Wang Yibo agreed, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "And there's so much more to look forward to."

As they drove home, the stars above seemed to shine a little brighter, reflecting the love and hope that filled their hearts. They knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, as a family.
