Jing Yan became even more awkward because of Luo Beichen's words. Luo's mother, however, was curious after her initial surprise. Her gaze shifted slightly and fell on Jing Yan. She looked her up and down carefully, liking her more and more the longer she looked.
Luo's mother felt that Jing Yan's act of not wanting payment must be because she wanted to get closer to her son. Looking at her own son, she could sense a hint of dislike for Jing Yan in his words, but it was odd because, given her son's personality, he could have simply sent away a woman he didn't like with the most direct method—to ask her not to show up again. Yet, it seemed that he had no intention of sending her away, which truly puzzled her.
"I didn't expect Xiaojing to be a great painter." Luo's mother said to Jing Yan with a smile, admiration flickering in her soft eyes.
"Auntie, you flatter me." Jing Yan was still awkward, occasionally sneaking glances at Luo Beichen, afraid that he might ask her to leave.
