Jiang Shuya thought Min Zhengtao was right; the greatest comfort as parents is seeing their children happy. If she refused, it would seem a bit deliberate and pretentious on her part.

Jiang Shuya then sat next to Lele, opposite Min Zhengtao. The two children were grinning from ear to ear together.
"This is a book for you." Lele took the book out from her backpack and handed it to Min Yue.
"Thank you." Min Yue's eyes lit up with joy as she looked at her father, Min Zhengtao.
Min Zhengtao gazed at his daughter with a doting look, "Yueyue, as they say, 'It is impolite not to reciprocate.' Lele gave you a book, just thanking her isn't enough. You should buy her a gift next time as well."
"Okay." Min Yue nodded.
"Really, it's not necessary." Lele shook her head.
