Lele said this entirely out of concern for her mother Jiang Shuya, but in the ears of Jiang Shuya and Huo Jingfeng, there was an added worry.
Jiang Shuya and Huo Jingfeng exchanged a secret glance and then subtly looked away.
Jiang Shuya cleared her throat and said to Lele, "Lele, don't talk too much during meals, save it for after you're done eating."
"Lele, try this beef, your mom cooked it perfectly, it tastes great." Huo Jingfeng smiled as he put some beef strips into Lele's bowl, "Beef is very nutritious, you're still growing, you should eat more."
"Thank you, Uncle." Lele responded politely.
Yet, Huo Jingfeng felt a pang in his heart, clearly they were father and son, yet they couldn't acknowledge each other. He could only watch as his son called him 'Uncle,' and each time he heard it, the title pierced his heart painfully.
