"You're not taking me where I need to go, so why should I pay you?" Song Jiaren argued with the driver.
"You're not going to pay?" The driver heard Song Jiaren wasn't going to pay and began to get out of the car.
This scared Song Jiaren a bit. She pulled out a fifty-dollar bill and threw it into the car.
"You're not going to pay? Let's see about that! Out here in the wilderness, I could do whatever I wanted with you, and no one would come to save you!" the driver cursed as he drove off, leaving Song Jiaren stranded on the endless rural dirt road.
Luckily, the car hadn't gone far beyond Stone Town, so Song Jiaren could still walk back along the dirt road to find a place to stay for the night.
