The call connected instantly, and Qin Long's gentle voice came through.
Tang Xuewu snapped, her voice icy, "Where have you been?"
"Oh, I'm out helping a friend. If it's not urgent, can we talk after I'm done?" Qin Long replied, sounding rushed.
Hearing this, rage filled Tang Xuewu's pretty face. She was being forced by her family to marry Wang Ming, yet all Qin Long did was hide like a coward—utterly useless. He had just promised that no one could force her to do anything, not even the highest authority in the land. Now, his words were being thrown back in her face.

She suppressed her indignation and let out a heavy sigh. "I'm heading to the Longquan Sky Garden now."
She finished speaking and waited, clinging to a sliver of hope. If he would just try to stop her, she would find an excuse not to go.
However, she was left utterly disappointed.
