Jella had never felt fear like this before, not even in her worst moments, not even on the nights when sleep refused to come and her mind replayed the image of Electra standing before her like something untouchable and beyond control. This was different. This wasn't just fear that came and went, this one stayed, heavy and suffocating, pressing against her chest like a boulder she couldn't push away.
It followed her thoughts, held on to every second, and refused to let her breathe properly. No matter where she looked in her room, no matter how still she stood, she could not shake the feeling that everything she had built over the years was about to be taken from her.
