"Would have been nice to know BEFORE they showed up out of fucking nowhere." I complained loudly.
"Why does that one look like Athena?" Brick asked confused as he pointed at the squad leaders corpse.
"They all do actually. See the original Atlas crimson assassin was SO good at her job that the asshats in charge of Atlas decided that they'd genetically modify every crimson assassin after that to match her. Talent doesn't work like that though so while the innate traits the original had got passed to the new ones none since have matched her prowess. The downside is that few survive the genetic reshuffling and those that do are given ridiculously strict training that knocks the success rate down even further. Theres a reason the crimson assassins are feared across the galaxies." I explained seriously.
"You said the traits got passed on right? So does that mean you know what they are?" Mordy asked and I nodded.
"Looking at them right now but they are all for the most part incomplete. Sloppy work really." I said as I looked at the assassins traits.
{Human
Lifeforce: 912
Traits: [Clever mind(incomplete)-Common grade]- 2500 units, [Omega body(incomplete)-Rare grade]- 15,000 units, [Hyperflexibility(incomplete)-Uncommon grade]- 4500 units, [Weapon instinct(incomplete)-Uncommon grade]-4500 units, [Sword expertise-Rare grade]- 15,000 , [Throwing star mastery-Uncommon grade]- 4500 units}
Despite what I said I was quite interested in the [Weapon instinct] trait along with the two mastery traits to expand my repertoire just that extra bit more. I shelled out the 37,440 units of lifeforce to grab every copy of [weapon instinct(incomplete)] as well as a single copy of both [sword expertise] and [Throwing star mastery] alongside the lifeforce in the bodies.-
"Just the lifeforce or some traits too?" Lil asked.
"Grabbed the incomplete [weapon instinct] trait they all have as well as one copy of the [sword expertise] and [throwing star mastery] traits." I said honestly.
"Weapon instinct? Like being able to pick up any weapon almost without effort?" Mordy asked and I nodded.
"No wonder the first crimson assassin was so good at it." Roland said seriously.
"Yeah, shame the trait is incomplete or once I fuse them in a second they'd be better than the original rather than merely complete." I said with a shrug as I fused the traits together.
To my surprise the final product was not merely Rare grade like I had thought it would be but jumped a full two grades higher than Uncommon to Epic grade. Thanks to the way my powers gave me a rough rundown of what a trait did I easily understood why this was and had to admit the first crimson assassin was a monster in human skin. The complete form of the trait not only gave the one with it an instinctive ease at picking up a new weapon but also gave them a sort of inbuilt flaw detector for using the things.-
Forget merely learning how to use a weapon this flaw detection would make the holder of the trait master whatever weapon they picked up in record time. Add on an omega body, high intelligence and body with insane flexibility and you had the perfect recipe for an assassin of legendary proportions. Hell even I was tempted to take take in a little girl of poor background and give her all of these traits along with the best education and training money could buy just to have my own personal first crimson assassin.-
The reason I specified a little girl was because to truly get the most out of these traits you needed to start real early. At the moment though I chose to add the idea to my mental list before integrating the traits I just got on the spot. [Martial mastery-Epic grade] immediately fused with all three of these traits and changed to [Martial savant-Legendary grade] and I stiffened as my body subtly shifted and a new sort of instinct rooted itself in place. I didn't hesitate to grab one of the throwing stars on the ground and flicked my finger causing it to flip through the air precisely before being caught without any effort at all as I knew exactly where it would end up and how.-
"Now you are just showing off." Lil said rolling her eyes.
I grinned "A little but can you fucking blame me? What's the point of all this awesome stuff if I can't show off every now and again?" I asked spreading my arms dramatically.
"Yeah but showing off is starting to seem like your default state." Mordy said with a snicker.
"I will neither confirm or deny that." I said with a chuckle.
After that we followed the road to the upper level of the town where we saw yet ANOTHER clinic belonging to Zed with a big sign that had a heart on it that read "DR. Zeds, roadside jumpstart infirmary." under that in small print was a line that read "No license but where else you gonna go?". Honestly I had to admit this branch of his clinics was the best out of all of them as it was large and genuinely impressive to look at. The exhaust we needed was attached to a crashed runner in front of the place so we just ripped it right off.-
All the parts collected we headed back to Scooters where he revealed something that REALLY pissed me off.
"Those Crimson bozos came and beat up on my hands trying to find that lady friend of yours. I ain't say nothin about it earlier but I can't install nothin like this so can you do me a favor and put the stuff on yourselves." he said showing us his hands that were covered in grimy bandages.
"Fuck that give me your hands!" I said angrily as I held out my own.
"What for?" he asked confused.
"To heal them." I said seriously.
"You can do that?" he asked in surprise.
"Somewhat yeah. Lifeforce only improves the body when the body isn't injured but if it is it all gets spent repairing the damage." I explained while impatiently shaking my hands in front of him.
"Alright then I trust you not to make me grow tentacles or something like that." he joked as he put his hands over my own.
I wasted no time at all dumping three thousand lifeforce into him through his hands but none of it left his hands.-
The damage was not catastrophic but his bones were cracked or plain broken in places while every inch his hands had bruises. Recovery would take months at least if he took it easy or years if he didn't. My lifeforce infusion went to work immediately mending the cracks in his bones and restoring proper blood flow to the area which cleared up the bruising at a visible rate. At the end he just clenched his fists a few times with an amazed expression.
"Still aches a bit but my hands don't feel like a Skag got a hold of em anymore. I'll get those parts settled in a jiffy." he said with a smile as he took the parts from us and got to work.
