Chapter 14 - chapter 14 'Love'

3rd pov

The sky melting, sun setting. Ryouto sitting, creatures of the night waking and silence overwhelming all thoughts.

"I should head back inside now.." Ryouto said looking up to the once blue sky.

Waiting a few seconds he got up and began walking towards the house, following a white tiled floor that lead him in a straight line towards the house. Grass surrounded the tiled floor but all seemed to be trimed at exactly the same height.

Soon he reached the front door and walked inside, leaving the cold shifting night air behind and stepping into the house's warm embrace.

His face blank as maids and butlers walked past him as he walked towards the stairs heading upstairs.

A couple minutes later, scene shifts as Ryouto rapped in a towel came out a white bath tub. Walking to a mirror on the wall with a sink to brush his teeth.

He looked at himself in the mirror, muscles clearly defined, face still wet from his earlier bath, black hair dripping with water and red eyes looking a little drained and a slight glitter of moisture in them.

Saying nothing he walked out of the bathroom and headed to his room where he changed and came out a couple minutes later. He then went to relax in the joining room and pulled out his phone texting all sorts of people.

Until a man looking like if he was in his twenties walked in and sat next to Ryouto.

"Yo, Ryouto funny seeing you here." The man with black hair and purple eyes said.

"Yeah Yuro how long was it since you got that job abroad? Like a year?" Ryouto replied never taking his eyes off his phone as one hand was stuck typing and the other behind his head that was already resting on the couches back rest.

"Nah it's been about 2 now." Yuro said looking at the boy stuck on his phone.

"Oh so what are you doing here?"

"Just thought I'd pay you and the old woman a visit. Plus Yura wanted to come get some stuff she can't get anywhere else apparently." Yuro replied laughing at his sister seemingly dumb reason to come back to New York.

"Oh, how long are you staying?" Ryouto asked trying to keep conversation but not fully interested.

"Hey Yuto you okay man you seem bummed out?" Yuro asked looking at The teen slightly more serious and concerned now.

"Nah, I'm good. I'm starting Sky high next week and I have to find a girlfriend cause grandma said so before a month passes... But you know I'm good."

"Okay that was funny. So what's really up?" He asked chuckling a little.

"I'm not joking." Ryouto said putting his phone aside and looking at Yuro.

"Fuck you're serious!" Yuro said eyes widening, silence insude for a few seconds then..

"Ahhhaaahahaha" Yuro been laughing until he was nearly bent over holding his belly crying.

"That's the craziest thing I've heard since forever. You made my day there." Yuro said catching himself for a moment as he began to calm down realizing Ryouto wasn't laughing at all and instead had a dread glare directed at him.

"Yeah whatever man." Ryouto said picking back up his phone and ignoring the now silent Yuro.

"Okay hey man I'm sure she wants you to get one for a reason. Maybe a secret technique or item." Yuro said trying to make sense of why the old woman did what she did.

"Or maybe she's an old senile woman that worries too much about useless stuff. She'd rather me spend time finding 'love' like it even exists than to train."

"Hey man! Love exists. You just don't feel it yet." Yuro said defending the febal emotion we call love.

"Yeah, who can prove that? Yeah sure some people have abilities that let them play cupid with her arrows but who could really say that love wasn't just made up by God or our minds to manipulate our decisions and control the way we feel about others." Ryouto said looking directly at Yuro a no nonsense look in his face.

"Oh? And by that logic isn't all our other emotions also the same. Also why does it matter if it's just something out minds create? If it makes you happy then so be it." Yuro said looking at the topic in a whole different way.

"I don't care if it feels good. I don't want to care about anyone else the way I....." Ryouto suddenly found himself stuck. His mouth was moving but words couldn't come out it was as though he'd just realized that fishes were never meant for a tank but in the sea where they can roam endlessly.

"The way you?" Yuro pushed realizing he might have a way to convince the boy in front him that love was true and real.

"The way I cared about my grandmother..." Ryouto said looking down and frowning thinking about his emotions again.

"So you loved your grandmother in other words right?" Yuro asked.

"Yeah of course, that's a dumb question." Ryouto said replying before he even processed what he was about to say.

"So what so different about loving a girl?" Yuro asked raising a eyebrow about how easy it was to get the boy to answer.

"It's just.. I don't.. I.. urghh, man I don't know." Finding himself stuck not knowing how to answer the question Ryouto began feeling frustrated at himself thinking..

'why am I so confused, I'm lost, I don't understand. What do I really want? What's so different about loving a girl? Maybe it's.." with these thoughts running rapidly through his mind he finally realized. It was never about him believing in love or anything like it being fake.

It was the fact that he was blocking his emotions away. Hiding them in a deep dark pit, that would've forever been left in his mind to rot, eventually becoming like a speck of gold thrown down into a pile of dirt.

There. Looking the same as any of the grains of dirt yet so different, meaning a million more to you than anything in that pile yet you had no idea so you threw it and you'll never get to understand exactly how much that speck of seemingly ordinary dirt meant because you'll never have a chance to spin back the wheel and know you just threw something so precious into a pile of meaningless dirt.

Just the same Ryouto had been neglecting his feelings of love he felt for anyone after his grandmother died. He'd developed a habit to constantly throw them away never thinking maybe this emotion here could be love. Instead his mind thought pain, distractions and unnecessary emotions.

Like a factory worker never truly analysing his packages just packing them and throwing them to the side where everything else went.

' I've completely locked off my feelings of love... And not just that I've been doing the same with a lot of my other feelings.'
