Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – Playing like normal person.

Chapter 2 – Playing like normal person.

So…. Who am I?

Well… Nobody….

But if I were to explain who I really am?

Well…. I'm somebody who is tired and bored.

I like games like anybody…. Be it an RPG or a TCG.

I spent my time playing games to either just kill time or to deal with a sour mood.

I've played countless different games.

Some were online, while some were just single-player.

When it comes down to the games, what I mostly like about them is the plot... But honestly speaking?

The same plot is repeating way too much.

Sure, I get that the repeats are common and everything.

Like, for example, a childhood friend or the teacher turning out to be the big bad guy, or the guy you thought to be the leader of the good guy faction turning out to be the main antagonist all along is quite common.

But even if it is repeating, the plot and story are often still interesting.

....

I get the repeats and stuff.... But.... But!

I need to ask a solid question.

Why is it always a "Good" ending?

I mean, why do you always needs to be a good person in games?

True. There are games that let you be a bad person or let you have the "Worst" ending, but honestly speaking, most of the games are about being "Good Person".

I'm bored.

I'm bored of being forced into being a "hero".

And that is why whenever there is a possibility? I always go for the worst ending.

I enjoy being a villain.

At first I thought that I would just give it a try and see how it goes..... And I've instantly fallen in love.

I liked it so much that I straight up even decided to become a PK (Player Killer) in online games and killed innocent players online and it was fun.

I've liked being an asshole.

I chose the worst possible ending in games because I wanted to see what "Evil" I can do.

I was trolling other players online and just being toxic.

Honestly, it was fun and I mean…. Like a solid change… I didn't know that being a bad guy could have been so fun? It was a very weird feeling.…. However, in the end, you will be forced to be a good person in the games…. And this is really annoying.

But…. What about the game that doesn't have anything like a story you have to play against your will?

A game where you write the story?

A game where you have complete freedom in your actions and you are not limited by even one thing?

What could THAT form of freedom give me?

"…."

(HAHAHAHAHAHA!)

(This is way too much!)

("The freedom of choice" huh developers?!)

(I'M GLAD!)

(I'M SO GLAD!)

(The game where you can really have any choice of your own choosing, while not being limited to what you can do!)

(SCREW EVERY SINGLE BULLSHIT BEFORE THAT!)

(THIS IS THE REAL FREEDOM WITHIN THE GAME!)

(I will have fun! The fun way I want to!)

(Why?! Because I'm a mothefuking bored asshole for god's sake!)

(Ah…. Let's be evil as hell…. Reason? FUN.)

(Oh… What was the last time I had such excitement!)

"HEY!"

"?"

"Did you just kill that guy?!" – asked the elf player as he approached Phantasia alongside another player.

"Yea. He was fuking trolling, so I just gave up on talking with him and killed him." - replied Phantasia, not even defending himself one bit.

"Is that a problem?" – asked Phantasia while pointing with his crossbow at the elf, alarming the duo of players.

"The fuck you mean, you bastard?! You cannot just kill people like that from the get go!"

"…"

"Was that piece of shit your friend?" - asked Phantasia.

"?!"

"N-no! But it's wrong!" – said elf.

"Yea! We saw you beating him up mercilessly!" – said a human player.

"…"

(Annoying…) - thought Phantasia.

(Already some stupid herous wanabes.)

(Should I just kill them as well?)

(But..... Can I take on two players at once?)

(These guys also have their guard up.)

"So what will you do? Are you going to pick a fight like him or something?"

"?"

(Honestly, if I were a higher...?)

(Wait. I've leveled up? But I didn't kill the.... Wait, I've got EXP from killing a player?)

(So, killing players gives you EXP? Huh… That's nice? But he gave me same amount of EXP as the slime by the look of things. Is it because he was a low-level player?)

"Anyway, don't piss me off. Or I will murder you as well." - said Phantasia.

"!"

"H-hey! Wait!"

The undead player just walked away, even when the human and the elf were calling out for him, completely ignoring the existence of the duo.

"…"

(Wait… Maybe I should have killed them?)

(I mean, I did level up and I've even obtained that title.... So maybe?)

(No wait! That title!)

(I've gotten it from killing a player..... But what about-)

[You have killed a player.]

"?"

[The player you killed didn't possess a high amount of Notoriety.]

[You have received [Notoriety].]

[When you commit crimes, you will gain [Notoriety]. Crimes like killing innocent NPCs or players without good reason will give you [Notoriety].]

[The higher your [Notoriety], the more EXP you will lose, and you will also have a higher chance of dropping items upon your in-game death.]

[If your [Notoriety] is high, the amount of EXP gained from committing crimes such as murder will increase by a small amount, and the chances of having a killed player drop an item increase. However, the increase is very small compare to the penalty.]

[Warning! If the NPCs notices you committing crimes, you may end up not viewing in favorable light or may become a criminal in their eyes.]

[Killing criminals or bringing them to justice will decrees your [Notoriety]. You can also hunt down monsters, wanted monsters, or commit good deeds in order to redeem yourself.]

"!"

(Huh… That's interesting?)

(So by committing crimes, you will get something like karma points?)

(Well, it's no surprise that they put this thing here. If there wasn't anything like that, players would go total nuts, so I guess this is keeping them in check or something?)

[You are the first ever player to gain [Notoriety].]

[You have gained the title: First Criminal.]

[Title Rank: E]

[Title Effect]

[+30 stat points.]

"Oh. I got another title. Nice?"

(So, I'm both the first murder and the first criminal? Well, I'm not complaining.)

(…)

(But is it better if I don't do anything big yet.)

(I mean, I'm still just level 2, so obviously instantly trying to become a villain would be pretty.... Well, it wouldn't end up very well for me.)

(I also should just stay "quiet", since I did just murder somebody, and it wasn't just 2 people that saw me doing that.)

(I should avoid committing any crimes, since I don't want some NPCs just locking me up in jail.)

(....Then again.... I think they are provoking people to go "full" evil and not some half assed evil when choosing their paths.)

(It seems that the [Notoriety] is a double-edged sword.)

(If you have high [Notoriety], you gain more EXP from committing crimes. But at the same time, the penalties would also increase.)

(Depending on the [Notoriety] will be risky, a straight-up gamble in a way, so I bet most people will try to avoid gaining any of it at all cost.)

(However, if you become somebody strong, then having [Notoriety] may be useful!)

(I can already see myself abusing it in the near future!)

"…"

"But for now, let's try to be honest person."

(Let's just play normally for now…. But in the near future, lets try doing some chaos!)

(Oh. Right. Let's use those points from get go…. All into mana and intelligent.)

[Stat points remaining: 80 -> 0]

"Well, then. Let's see how strong I am."

After distributing my stats, I started hunting like a regular player.

Honestly, I got to say, I'm doing quite a bit better at hunting.

The monsters were still... Well, weaklings, so it was quite hard to see a difference, but in terms of hunting speed, I was noticable a bit faster than other players.

Well, honestly, I could have probably hunted bit faster IF I didn't picked the alchemist class, but it was worth.

However.

[Stats]

[Level: 2]

[Race: Undead - Zombie] [Subrace: Human]

[Health:27] [Mana:62] [Stamina:27] [Strengh:27] [Agility:22] [Inteligent:77] [Vitality:22]

[Unspent stat points: 0]

[Class:

[Poison Mage]-[LVL:23/100]- [Cost per level: 2]

[Alchemist]-[LVL10/100] - [Cost per level: 1]

[Unspent class points: 0]

[Skills:

- [Poison Magic]-[LVL5/14] [Poison Shot]-[LVL6/15] [Poison Ball]-[LVL5/14] [Poison Smoke]-[LVL2/11] [Poison Blow]-[LVL3/12] [Poison Gas]-[LVL2/11]

-[Alchemy]-[LVL6/15] [Alchemist Work]-[LVL4/13]

Those are my current stats. I only have 6 skills from the [Poison Mage] and only 2 from [Alchemist].

Honestly, I want to get my [Poison Mage] to level 100 ASAP, but I really want to try alchemy. Currently, my [Alchemist] class is on a lock is, meaning I cannot increase its level any further unless I increase my [Alchemy] skill first.

Well… How does alchemy work in this world anyway?

I mean… This is a world of sword and magic, so… Do I need to use some "Magical" ingredients or something? How would I find anything-

"?"

"Oh. A weird plant?" – said Phantasia before getting on his knees and picking up an odd-looking plant that caught his attention.

[Mana Grass]

[Rarity: Common]

[Basic Ingredients used for alchemy that anybody can use. The plain grass that mutated after being exposed to mana over a prolonged amount of time, resulting in the grass evolving into something new. However, the plant itself doesn't possess much mana in the first place. It's just some grass that has grown a bit larger and changed its appearance a bit. The only thing that stands out about this plant is its possession of mana, but in the first place, it barely has any mana.]

"…"

"Huh…. Em… Okay?"

(So is it like the ingriediant? By the looks of things, some stuff I can randomly pick up can be used for alchemy?)

(I wonder if....Oh wait. I have those slimes things. Can I use them for alchemy as well?)

(Hm… I managed to get to level 4…. Maybe let's stop for the moment and instead look around for some stuff that can be used for alchemy? Honestly, there may be some other -OH!)

(Maybe there is something I can use to make poisons with?! Like coat my weapons with poison so I can inflict multiple poison statuses to the enemies?)

(Yea! Let's do it!)

(But this place won't do.)

(Honestly, the only monsters here are slimes and monsters called [Grass Field Furball] that are just straight-up ball of fur with 2 teeth.)

(…)

(Should I go to that forest?)

(I think it's a more dangerous area and all, considering that the monsters we players are finding here are between level 1-4, but…. I got 80 stat points from the get-go, meaning I have stats of the level 12 player….)

(Hm… My equipment is still shit….)

(…)

(Ah, fuck it.)

(I may be able to level up a bit faster if I go there, and possibly I could find other alchemy materials out there that are much more useful than this Mana Grass.) - thought Phantasia as he began heading straight towards the forest that was located right next to the grass field, and before long, he managed to successfully arrive at his destination

"…"

(Okay…. I wasn't expecting that?)

(I mean, it did appear a bit creepy from distance… But now that I'm inside…. Dark green grass… Creepy trees…This kind of look like a haunted forest?)

(Will something like a ghost or an undead pop up?)

(…)

(Wait… I'm undead myself… So how would that work? Would they attack me or-)

"?"

"Oh. Another mana grass."

"Oh! Another one!"

(Huh. In the grass field, I barely saw any mana grass, but now I'm finding them more easily? Maybe it depends on the area?)

(…)

(But how useful is this thing anyway? It has description:

[A very basic and common ingredients used for alchemy that literally anybody can use, even without alchemist class.]

(So does that mean it's straight at the very bottom of the alchemy ingredients? Like a tutorial type of material?) – thought Phantasia while plucking out the mana grass left and right and putting them in his inventory.

(Well, I'm not complaining. I mean, I do want to use alchemy, but I literally didn't use alchemy one bit ever since I got here. But I'm also getting more curios about it right now, I'm quite looking forward to it.)

"Ah!!!!"

"?!"

(What was that?! Did somebody screamed?)

(Wait! There are others players beside me here?!)

(…)

*Sigh*

(Are the things about to get annoying?) – though Phantasia while reloading his crossbow.
