Grand Line – Paradise

While Vivi attacked Bon Clay with her spiked baseball bat, and the Okama slammed forcefully against the ground, further to the side, Usopp, Chouchou, Robin, and a dazed Koza watched the fight without interfering.
"How long do you guys think this fight is going to last?", Usopp suddenly asks, a little bored since Vivi had simply decided to immobilize the minions they were supposed to fight, leaving nothing for them.
"Woof, woof woof woof woof woof woof" "I don't know, but I wouldn't say more than ten minutes", Chouchou replies, not thinking Bon Clay would last very long; their physical strength might even be similar, but Vivi's Akuma no Mi is simply too strong, without Haki or overwhelmingly superior strength, there's no chance he can defeat her.
"I think the princess is going to end up impaling him to death", Robin comments with a smile that was cute and morbid at the same time.
Looking at Robin in a strange way, Usopp says irritably, "My God, woman! You have to stop being so morbid!"
"Uhh… guys, what you said before, was that really serious? Was all of this staged?", Koza, who had been quiet since the revelation of the impostor posing as the King, trying to process everything, finally says something.
"Ahh, that scared me as fuck! Hmm? Oh, it's just you! Sorry, I kind of forgot you were here, to be honest!", startled by Koza's voice, Usopp, having completely forgotten that he was there, apologizes upon noticing his presence.
"Yes, it's real, it was Crocodile who planned all of this! The drought was caused intentionally by the excessive use of Dance Powder; after putting Alabasta in that state, he made the people, who were already dissatisfied with all of it, discover the powder and believe that King Cobra was behind their misery", Robin then answers Koza's question upon seeing that Usopp hadn't done so.
"Why?", frowning deeply, Koza asks, not understanding Crocodile's motives.
"He wants power. Basically, Alabasta has the sword he wants and, at the same time, it can be used as a shield", Robin replies without going into many details, which leaves Koza a little confused by this whole sword-and-shield thing.
"…Fuck, this is unbelievable. How did we not see this before?", after a few seconds of silence, Koza mutters, lamenting not having seen Crocodile's machinations earlier.
Seeing him dwelling on what 'could have been' instead of accepting what happened and moving on, Robin says, reassuring him, "You shouldn't blame yourself, dwelling on it is useless! The reality is that you all didn't see it because it wasn't obvious; Crocodile placed eyes and ears everywhere, you only saw what he wanted you to see."
While the four talk among themselves, Bon Clay, with the holes in his chest burning as blood flows out slowly and without hindrance, gets up with difficulty and moves away from Vivi, who lets him do so.
Complaining about the trick Vivi used to hit him, Bon Clay then says with a smile as he touches his own face and transforms into Nefertari Cobra, "That was low, queen! But fine, if we're going to play with everything we have, let's see if you have the courage to hit your own father."
"This won't work on me, you don't have the element of surprise, and I don't mind hitting a familiar face", Vivi says before making a bunch of roots sprout from the ground and shoot toward Bon Clay as she also charges at him.
The two then engage in intense combat, with Bon Clay remaining completely on the defensive from the start, struggling to dodge the roots that seemed to be multiplying without end and the uninterrupted attacks of Vivi's bat.
In the middle of all this action, Bon Clay changes faces into everyone Vivi knew, trying to find someone she wouldn't have the courage to hit.
"How about this one?", Bon Clay asks as he transforms into Nojiko, having to dodge Vivi's bat the very next instant.
"And this one? And this one? And this one? And this one?", seeing that Nojiko's face didn't work, he kept trying face after face, Usopp, Luffy, Chopper, Karoo, Chouchou. None of them worked. Vivi's face twisted slightly only when he was transformed into the three little animals. But even so, she didn't hesitate at all, after all, it wasn't really them.
Then, while deflecting an upward diagonal strike from Vivi's bat with his hand, Bon Clay realizes the hard way that touching things made by the princess might not be a good idea.
What happens is that, as Bon Clay pushes the spiked baseball bat away from himself, Vivi suddenly lets go of the weapon.
And in a matter of moments, at the exact instant the green bat was about to pull completely away from Bon Clay's hand, the weapon transforms completely, vines sprouting from it and wrapping tightly around the Okama's arm.
Not even a second later, the baseball bat completely transforms into vines, shooting toward the ground at tremendous speed, piercing the earth and effectively disabling one of Bon Clay's arms, while at the same time restraining him and limiting his movement.
All of this happens in seconds, and Vivi, well, the moment she lets go of her weapon, she attacks the Okama in front of her with a punch, which he dodges by leaning backward, just like Neo from The Matrix in bullet time.
As soon as his back hits the ground, Bon Clay sees the sole of a boot darken his vision, coming straight for his face.
Reacting quickly, he rolls to the side, barely dodging the stomp Vivi had just delivered.
Still on the ground, he moves swiftly, delivering a sweeping kick at Vivi that ends up hitting her cleanly.
And so, right after the ground beneath her feet cracks like a web from her stomp, Vivi suddenly finds herself airborne, her legs swept upward, falling toward the ground.
Then, when Vivi is almost touching the ground, a kick delivered by Bon Clay hits her square in the stomach, sending her sliding away rapidly, kicking up dust in her wake.
Creating distance between them, Bon Clay quickly gets up before forcing the vines binding his left arm with such strength that they snap apart with a thunderous crack.
Freed from his restraint, Bon Clay uses the vines still clinging to his arm like a flail/whip, attacking Vivi in a descending vertical arc.
Meanwhile, a few seconds earlier, Vivi quickly recovers, going from sliding to standing in the blink of an eye.
[Think of the scene where Deadpool and Wolverine fight in the MCU void. There's a part where Deadpool falls to the ground and gets back up quickly with a move that looks like a breakdance step; if I remember correctly, he hits his shoulder on the ground and propels himself back to his feet. What I mean is that Vivi did something similar while sliding to stand up quickly.]
As soon as she gets up, Vivi sees her vines, which had previously been binding Bon Clay's left arm, coming down over her head like a whip.
Reacting quickly, just before the vines hit her, Vivi makes them open into a circle around her, missing her completely.
As soon as the circle of vines slams into the ground around her, a massive boom assaults the ears of everyone nearby, kicking up dust and debris with the impact.
Without wasting time, Vivi makes the vines in contact with the ground extend and penetrate the soil, continuing to grow through the suspended roots and pulling themselves downward with force.
As soon as Bon Clay sees vines sprouting along the whip and sticking to the ground at a staggering speed, getting closer and closer to him, he begins desperately trying to get rid of the roots stuck to his arm.
Flexing his left arm with all his strength, he tries to force the vines to burst. But within seconds, the vines are already stuck to the ground right below him, beginning to pull him downward.
With the vines completely taut in a tug-of-war, Bon Clay grabs his left arm with his right hand and applies even more force, trying to burst them.
As soon as one of the many vines clinging to his arm snaps, more take its place, pulling him downward with even greater force as they wrap around his limb and climb toward his shoulder.
Then, trying to kick the taut rope, Bon Clay almost loses his balance doing so. Now, by some miracle, he manages to snap several of the vines with this desperate attack.
"URGHHHH!", with the tug-of-war rope becoming more fragile momentarily, Bon Clay makes a herculean effort with his arms, completely snapping the remaining vines.
But while he was doing that, the vines climbing up his arm had already spread across his entire torso and were now tightening around him as they rapidly grew toward the ground, seeking to anchor him.
Despite struggling with all his might, within moments the vines had already anchored him to the ground and wrapped completely around his body, effectively capturing him in a green cocoon where only his face remained uncovered.
"Ughh, this is so unfair! I didn't even get to fight properly", with the expression on his face showing that he was exerting a lot of force, Bon Clay complains, trapped in his prison cocoon.
"I call it payback! You made Alabasta suffer far too much, it's fair and almost poetic that you fall from your pedestals so easily", Vivi says as she walks past the cocoon and heads toward her friends.
"Hey... hey, where are you going? Are you going to leave me here? Girl, none of this is my fault, my missions never involved Alabasta...", unable to turn his head to follow her, Bon Clay begins to speak, his voice growing louder and more desperate with each passing second.
"HEY! HEY!", ignoring Bon Clay's shouts, Vivi walks past the other cocoons containing the agent's subordinates, reaching where Usopp, Chouchou, Robin, and Koza were.
"Pheew, he didn't even stand a chance! That Akuma no Mi you ate is really strong, Vivi", as soon as Vivi gets close, Usopp whistles and comments with a smile.
"From what you told me about how the previous user used the fruit, I still have a lot of training to do", Vivi comments humbly, with an embarrassed smile.
"With time you'll get the hang of it, the most important thing is creativity!", Usopp reassures her, reminding her that creativity was the most important factor for someone who ate an Akuma no Mi.
"Well, I have several ideas on how to use my powers, I just haven't had the chance to put them into practice yet", Vivi says a bit shyly before turning to Koza.
And at that exact moment, as Vivi opens her mouth to say something to Koza, Ace appears right in front of Bon Clay, who is shocked by the sudden appearance of a tall young man wearing a cowboy hat.
"AHHHHH! Oh, hi there, handsome!", a few seconds after his fright, Bon Clay flirts with Ace upon realizing that he's good-looking. All this commotion ends up drawing the rest of the group's attention to them.
Seeing Ace, Usopp raises an arm and calls out to him, "Huh? Hey, Ace! Over here!"
Looking strangely at Bon Clay wrapped in a cocoon of plants, Ace walks past him and heads toward the group.
"Hey, hey, hold on, handsome! Come back here, tell me your name, is it Ace?", seeing Ace walk past him without saying a word, Bon Clay tries to call him back, but ends up being ignored like background noise.
"Hey, guys! Is everything settled here already?", Ace asks as he gets close to the group.
"Almost everything, Nami and Chopper went to deal with two presences we think are from Baroque Works", Usopp says, quickly explaining what was going on.
"Right, Sanji and I knocked out the entire rebel base and he went to help Zoro against Crocodile while I came here!", nodding in understanding, Ace says, informing them about what happened in Katorea after they left.
"Wait, knocked out the rebel base? Crocodile?", Koza suddenly asks, furrowing his brow at what he just heard.
"Well, they surrounded us, and talking would be very difficult because of the infiltrators stirring everything up, so we just knocked everyone out! Anyway, let's meet up with Nami and Chopper and rush back to Katorea to help Zoro and Sanji against Crocodile", Ace explains before changing the subject to what they should do next.
"What is Crocodile doing in Katorea?", confused, Koza suddenly asks, wanting to know why the great mind behind all this shit was in Katorea.
"He tried to stop us from reaching you, so Zoro, the crew's first mate, stayed behind to deal with him", Vivi answers, briefly explaining what had happened.
Suddenly, Robin asks, drawing everyone's attention, "Wouldn't it be better if we were already moving instead of standing here talking?"
"Woof woof!" "She's right!", Chouchou barks, agreeing with the archaeologist.
"And them?", Vivi asks while pointing at the cocoons scattered around the square.
"Leave them there, we'll pick them up on the way back!", Usopp says before turning and starting to walk toward where Nami and Chopper were.
"Alright, let's go then", despite being a little unsure about leaving the cocoons there, Vivi says before walking over to Chouchou, who had just entered his hybrid form to give rides to those who didn't know how to use Soru.
Then, one minute after they disappeared from the square using Soru, in the silence that had settled with the group's departure, a figure appears at the edge of the area, Igaram.
"Ma… ma… ma… what the hell happened here?", seeing the destruction of the place and the strange plant cocoons, he asks the winds with a deeply furrowed brow.
