Joseph took the warm teacup from Camellia's hand, gestured for the Director of the Security Bureau to sit down, and frowned slightly, "How did the situation get out of hand so quickly?"
"It's the 'Young Italy Organization,' Your Highness," said Lavallette. "They must have received a large amount of funding and are suddenly inciting uprisings everywhere."
Joseph had previously heard reports from the Security Bureau about this matter and knew it was an Italian nationalist organization. However, under the constant suppression of the governments of Northern Italy, they had only ever staged minor covert activities; now, they had suddenly become much bolder.
Lavallette continued, "There are signs that most of the funding for them comes from within Naples. However, I also suspect that some among the northern Italian states are involved."
Joseph savored the aroma of the tea, pondered briefly, and instructed, "You may focus the investigation on Sardinia."
