"What happened to those people?" Sanchez interrupted him, "Do you know anyone among them?"
Hassan didn't speak.
"General, you gave me a note. It had thirty-two names. You know them. You know who they are, what they're called, how long they've been detained. You know if they have families, if anyone is waiting for them to return."
He looked into Hassan's eyes. "You know, because you've been to Facility 317. You've seen them."
Hassan's hand withdrew from the table.
"General, I'm not here to pressure you. I'm here to tell you that someone is about to take action. It's not the Mexicans, it's the Russians. They've given the Syrian government seven days to let those people walk across the bridge. After seven days, if they haven't crossed, they'll take no further responsibility."
He looked at the two men.
