Chapter 257 - Chapter 258 Run!

Rengoku, Tanjirou, and everyone except Ichigo had finished dealing with all of the demons inside the Mugen train.

They were now waiting for Ichigo to return. They believed that Ichigo must have dealt with the stronger demon already. However, he must have done something to the demon before he would come back to them.

Tanjirou, Zenitsu, and Inosuke were very excited, while Nezuko just sat on her seat like nothing had happened before.

"Rengoku-Aniiki is really strong! He didn't have to use his breathing technique at all."

"Yup! Rengoku-Aniki is the best."

"Khahaha, Aniki, the best!"

Tanjirou, Zenitsu, and Inosuke admired Rengoku very much. They even call him Aniki (big brother).

"Haha, this is nothing. I can't even be compared to his lordship!"

Rengoku didn't dare show off when Ichigo was the one who made him this strong.

And as Rengoku was praised by the trio, Nezuko stood up, and then she kicked the air.

Rengoku felt something, and he unsheathed his Nijirin very quickly and slashed the air where Nezuko kicked as well.

At the place where both Nezuko and Rengoku attacked, a demon appeared.

He was a very muscular young man of average height with pale skin that appeared bright green-tinged white and was adorned by a pattern of thick blue lines.

His body got destroyed by Nezuko and Rengoku, but he regenerated back in a blink of an eye.

The demon laughed happily before he said.

"You two are very strong! Become demons for me!"

Tanjirou, Zenitsu, and Inosuke felt the pressure coming out of the demon. They couldn't help but sweat very hard. If they were to fight with the demon, There was no doubt that they would die.

"I refuse."

Rengoku didn't need to hear anything anymore, as he knew that the demon in front of him must be of the upper moon rank level.

Even with his bloodline awake, he still felt pressure from him, but he also felt that he could fight and win.

Rengoku took a deep breath. A flame burst around his body before he was engulfed in it. He didn't show any signs of discomfort inside the flame at all.

The demon named Akaza felt the heat coming toward him. He felt that his skin was burning. He jumped backward to escape the heat. However, he wasn't fast enough before Rengoku reached him.

"Flame breathing, first form: unknowing flame!"

Rengoku dashed towards Akaza at tremendous speeds before unleashing a singular horizontal slash directed at his neck.

Akaza felt terror for the first time in his demon's life. He avoided it, but at the cost of his entire arm. His wound was also burning, so he could not regenerate.

"I can not regenerate… This flame isn't a normal flame…"

Akaza looked at Rengoku more carefully, and his eyes widened. He could sense something inside him.

"You are not human, but Yokai."

Akaza had met a Yokai before, and he could not defeat that Yokai. His face displayed a resentful expression toward Rengoku.

If he was a Yokai, then he couldn't change him into a demon.

And as he was about to say something to Rengoku, he felt someone move toward him with great speed, and he was sent flying by a kick from Nezuko. Her kick this time was packed with something special.

Akaza's body hit the next cabin and destroyed it completely. Fortunately, no one was inside the cabin.

He slowly stood up from the wreckage and felt that his body was regenerating like normal, but the pain was still there.

"What… Why did her kick feel so painful?!"

After becoming a demon, Akaza had never felt this kind of pain before.

It was nothing like her first kick. This time, he saw that when she kicked him. Her leg was covered by some kind of energy. Her kick had passed through his defense.

He should have dodged her kick and not been too confident in his strong and regenerative body.

Akaza took a stance and wanted to use his blood demon technique to kill everyone on the train. However, before he could do that, he heard someone scream at him inside his head.

"Run, you bastard! Run!"

"Muzan-sama?"

Muzan, who was aloof and so calm, yelled at him through their connection in panic.

He hadn't lost yet, but why did he feel a sense of urgency in Muzan's voice?
