Suddenly, there was a gentle knock on the door.
The ever-present servant looked up upon hearing it and asked her opinion, "Mrs. Luo?"
Tong Ran did not turn around; she pretended not to hear, her gaze still fixed on the drawing papers.
The knocking sounded again, this time a voice came from outside, "Miss Tong, it's Meng Yao."
The servant glanced at Tong Ran, seeing she had no reaction, thought for a moment and then went to open the door.
Meng Yao stood at the door wearing a violet dress. Luo Xiao had been kneeling in the rain for a day, and his fever had lasted for three days now without breaking. She hadn't rested in these three days either, with dark circles under her eyes, "Miss Tong, may I come in?"
Tong Ran's gaze remained fixed outside the window, and upon hearing this, she let out a cold laugh and picked up a piece of drawing paper as if treasuring it, "I'm just a prisoner, I have no say, why ask me?"
