On Island No. 1
With the departure of Huo Siyu and Huo Jiaxiu, the previously stormy rage-filled Gentleman Residence fell into an eerie silence.
No one spoke, whether it was Huo Zongtao or Huo Tianxing; both remained silent, as if each was lost in their own thoughts.
Until nightfall, when Chang Zong entered, "Old Grand Master, Master, dinner is ready."
"Oh..."
Huo Zongtao's voice elongated, his expression appearing much calmer, the earlier fury vanished.
"Bring it over," Huo Tianxing said, looking at Huo Zongtao, "I'll dine with Father."
Chang Zong looked at Huo Zongtao, who nodded.
Chang Zong didn't have the maids serve; he personally brought it up. Because a portion was prepared for Huo Siyu, it seemed like more, filling the dining table.
A quiet meal, no one spoke.
The father and son had identical dining postures and habits, with the only difference being their vastly differing preferences for the dishes.
