Chapter 52 - 52 magical construction

" Now slowly connect your magic circuit. And remember not to rush. Don't allow yourself to get overwhelmed."

"Mmmhmmm"

Richard observed as he guided Tonks. As he kept observing, the pile of boulders turned fluid, and then slowly began rising up.

"Good" He complimented. "Now take out your wand, and use auxiliary control. "

Tonks took out her wand and held it in her right hand while her left hand remained extended.

Richard had his own wand stuck out, and he was holding a platform made of transfigured stone at above their head levels. This would be foundation for the next floor of their house.

He glanced at Tonks, who stood ready, and gave a curt nod. After weeks of training, Tonks had reached a point where Richard could trust in her abilities to a hundred percent.

She knew what to do

Tonks waved her hands, like guiding an orchestra, and the massive pile of granite moved like water. The grey tide washed over the processed earth, creating a completely even floor made of seamless granite, then once it covered the square area, from the four edges, the remaining substance began to rise, forming uniform pillars that reached the granite platform Richard held overhead.

She had two distinct circuits. Richard named them formsmith and imposed imprint. These two were tied to her inherent ability as a metamorphmagus .

What she used to shape the granite was her first circuit. Formsmith gave her the ability to control the physical form of anything she desired .

Richard let go of the platform as the granite pillars had completely fused with the platform then. The stone moved like a living thing, filling the spaces without leaving a single space.

Richard stepped back and looked at the skeleton that would soon become another part of their growing residence. It looked good. Which meant, that it was time for step two.

He gave a thumbs up to Tonks. As much as he disliked to admit it, this house building was mostly carried out by Tonks. His magic was insignificant in that aspect when compared with her's.

Tonks approached the stone pillars that supported the platforms and placed her hands on the closest one, and for a second, lines of magic materialized on its surface. Then the stone pillar changed. It wasn't obvious. But if someone looked at the base of the stone pillar, they would be able to notice something incredible.

Roots

Roots like those of trees spread from the base of the stone pillar as it gripped the earth.

This was the imposed imprint. It imposed a magical imprint on any object permanently.

Here, she made the stone pillars stay "rooted" to the ground.

Tonks had effectively imposed the permanent magical nature of staying rooted to the pillar.

That meant, the pillar would become a part of this earth. It will stay rooted there as long as the imprint remains. Even if it gets destroyed physically, it would grow back because it is "rooted" to the place itself. Basically, it was the ultimate form of enchantments.

Tonks waved her wand and hand, moving blocks of granite to fill in the pillars, forming perfect walls. The rocks were fused, but Richard wanted to keep small cracks in between them . Richard disliked the entire smooth and even walls because it ruined the mideval castle wall aesthetic, but he also knew that these were there to create perfect weight distribution, strength and longevity.

So they decided to go with the smooth but not unnaturally smooth surface. And Tonks promised to find some magical lichen that could grow on the stone walls. They say Bastian lichen actually strengthens rocky formations instead of breaking them down... So Richard was a little thrilled.

As the final stone set itself in place, Tonks collapsed on the ground. She looks exhausted. But then who wouldn't be, Richard chided himself. She had indeed created an entire two story building herself solely using her magic.

"Here" Richard handed her some chocolate. " It will probably make you feel better. Besides, you will need it soon."

She had done her part, so what was left now, was Richard's work.

'Enhancement'

Blue electric circuits covered the entire wall, the moment Richard unleashed his magic. He had enough reference materiels from the greatest magical construct in Britain after all.

Protego

Protego totalum

Protego maxima

Repello inimicum

Salvio hexia

Fianto duri

Those were just the basics.

Muggle repelling charm

Imperturable charm

Anti apperation charm

Anti dissaperition charm

And the unplottable charm.

And then, to the finale.

Richard took a deep breath. This was his second time setting this up, and still, the nervousness was there.

In his hand was a puzzle box. This was connected to eight buried markers and a boundary set using quartz around their house.

He had always been curious about the paintings. How they actually work. How they move, and what rules apply to them. Well, Richard traced one for curiosity's sake.

Paintings were magical constructs that use paint as their rules. As long as it is drawn in paint, it is able to interact with the painting world.

The painting background is the set of conditions the person is supposed to work with.

The boundary is the frame, made by Tonks herself, and Richard who held the puzzle box was the painter.

With the boundary having its own magical nature, Richard is able to set a one sided oath. The barrier must set those oath to everything within the barrier, and those who violate that oath will not be admitted to the boundary.

No polyjuce potion users

No dementors

No leithfolds

No dark creatures

No enemies

No Animagus transformations

No uninvited people

Both Tonks and Richard gripped the puzzle box as they set the conditions. He named the conditions while Tonks added them to the canvas they made. Each condition gleamed off the box like golden threads before integrating with the barrier. This was the final security he had in place.....for now.

Then the puzzle box, which contained the written conditions within was buried in the inner most pillar of the house, never to be found by anyone.

Richard collapsed next to Tonks. His head swam as he sucked on the chocolate, unable to even bite in exhaustion. Yet as he looked at the house, the two story stone castle they were almost finished with.... He could feel pride. And something else.

He dreamt as he closed his eyes. A dream...only to get woken up by someone pulling on his collar.

"Get up you lazy brat. I don't have what it takes to pull you to bed-"

Seeing that it was Tonks, Richard closed his eyes again. Though there was a smile ther on his usually scowling face.
