Chapter 3 - Next Mission of the Feminist

👱🏻‍♀️

"Avery! You need to wake up. You have work today." I woke up in a jolt from my mother's shout from downstairs. It always felt like an alarm.

Just like an alarm clock, I ignored it and went back to sleep. But just when I covered my face with the blanket, I heard my door open and close.

"Sis, you should get out of bed now. Blyana, Ailith, and Feyre are already waiting for you downstairs. Come on!" My blanket was immediately stolen away from me by my younger sister, Kathika. I have no choice but to get up.

"Okay, Kath. Please tell them to wait for a while while I prepare. Thank you," I said, and she instantly went out of my room after that.

I made haste and went to the bathroom and took a shower.

After that, I changed clothes and went downstairs immediately. I know my friends don't like to wait.

"Come here, Avery. You should eat first before going to work. You should eat, too, girls." My mom called out to me as I approached the kitchen.

There, I saw my friends already at the table. They had fun talking with my mother like she was their own mother.

"Kathika, go and wake your sister Fajra up and tell her to join us to eat." Kathika immediately went upstairs and woke up our older sister, Fajra, or she would experience our mom's wrath for not following her orders.

"Let's eat!" said Ailith and ate her first scoop of food. She ate with enthusiasm without a care in the world.

"Look at you eating without a care in your surroundings. Are you the owner of this house, huh? How shameless!" Blyana said to Feyre, but also ate her first scoop happily.

Blyana and I looked at each other almost at the same time. We just laughed at how the other two acted like they were in heaven while eating their food.

"Why were you really in a bad mood last night, Av?"

I looked at Blyana, who asked me. She was in the passenger seat of my Honda Civic. The other two were in the back, eating the dessert that my mom gave them after we ate our breakfast.

We are now on our way to the office. We had a lot of documents that needed to be filed and other matters to finish.

"Oh yes! We rarely see you like that," Feyre said noddingly to what Blyana said.

"You always kept your cool, Triple A. What really happened last night?" asked Ailith, who was still eating her dessert while looking at me in the front mirror.

I sighed. I know I can't hide things from them. It's better to tell them what really happened last night.

"Do you remember the three guys last night, especially the guy who fought in the bar?" I started. I really was annoyed when I remembered it. I didn't notice that I tightened my grip on my steering wheel because of the frustration.

"The handsome guys at the bar? Of course, yes!" Feyre and Ailith said in unison with big grins on their faces.

I rolled my eyes at the sight. What will be their reaction if they know what happened?

"They're male chauvinist pigs! Well, I can't say about the other one who looked kind, but they're friends, so I think they're the same. Birds with the same feathers flock together." Their grins were instantly gone after I said that. I laughed at their reactions and told them all what happened last night.

"But I'm not as crazy as Blyana, Triple A. So don't judge others based on their friends," Ailith rebutted what I said.

Blyana instantly turned her head to Ailith like she was some scary ghost. That was a fast reaction!

"At least I don't shoot the enemy twice in the head," Blyana retorted. Of course, it's overkill since she is the sniper here.

Ailith faked gasping. "I only do that if the one I shoot is an a**hole who loves to kidnap and rape defenseless women and kids," she replied defensively.

I laughed at them bickering. Their banter was always entertaining to witness, even if it did get a bit intense at times.

"You're both crazy, so you should stop," Feyre said to stop them from bickering. But the two shared a glance and smirked towards Feyre. Oh, you're in trouble now, Feyre.

"So who was the one who left the guys crying in their cells because she broke up with them?" Well, it was not her fault that the guys trusted her when she went undercover. They always fell under her charms.

The two tease Feyre to get on her nerves. And they succeeded.

Feyre snapped and replied defensively, "And because of that, our missions were successful, right? What about you, Blyana? What happened to the guy you like, whom you stalked and hacked all his access to know his schedule and such?"

My jaw dropped at the revelation. I didn't know that! What she did was a crime! This bickering should stop, or dark secrets will be revealed one by one.

"That was not good, Blyana. You should delete all that information you get, or I will be the one to report and run an investigation on you," I said to her, looking at her directly so she could tell I'm serious about it.

Blyana nodded and glared at Feyre. Feyre just smirked at her and put her tongue out to annoy Blyana. Blyana just rolled her eyes at her.

"Stop your bickering, girls. We're here."

We got out of the car and were greeted by our Chief at the front door. The sour moods earlier just vanished instantly and were replaced by sweet smiles at the time we saw him.

We composed our posture and saluted him.

"Carry on," said the Chief. He then looked at us like a proud father. We smiled at him. He is like a father to us.

"I should congratulate you on your successful mission, girls. You outdid yourselves." He extended his hands, and we shook hands one by one. That was really satisfying to accomplish.

His smiling face then turned into a serious look, and we got anxious as we waited for him to say something. When he's like this, it means there's trouble and stress again.

"Officers, go on with your daily tasks. " He looked at me, and I gulped. "You, Lieutenant, should come with me to my office," he said, and he turned on his heels to walk to his office, and I followed suit.

I waved goodbye to my friends as I entered his office.

"Is there a mission again, sir?" I asked just as I closed the door behind me.

"Yes. Please sit down first. I'll tell you about your next mission." I looked at him with questions in my eyes. Why am I the only one he wanted to tell this to?

I sat down in front of him as I anticipated the next words coming out of his mouth.

"It's a solo mission, Lieutenant. I know you're the one who will be fit for this mission."
