The sun was out and about, casting its light glow over the busy streets of Tokyo. Busy men rushed in and out of their vehicles to get to their jobs, and women were rushing in and out of stores with big bags of clothes and other supplies.
Aoi Yukaru was an 18 year old boy who just didn't care about the world around him. Aoi had his bag slouched over his shoulder. His school uniform consisted of a midnight blue blazer with a high collar topped with silver embroidery in the shapes of protective charms.
A light grey, buttoned up shirt that's been woven with cotton, crimson red tie with an adjustable clasp, charcoal grey straight-cut pants with enforced stitching with several hidden pockets to hold small items, and sturdy, comfortable shoes with rubber soles to keep the sound in the school to a minimum.
Only the members of the upper-class, usually people with a lot more money and power, had an optional choice to wear black gloves woven with panther fur. Since Aoi wasn't in this upper-class region, he didn't get all the specialties of the royals and upper-classmen.
"Another day.. Atleast I graduate in a few days.." He says in a monotone voice, stepping into the courtyard of his high school. He looked around, admiring the Sakura passage his school had to offer.
He inhaled, making his eyes wide a bit before walking into his school. "I'll just skip breakfast and wait for lunch till then…" Aoi pondered, not wanting to be in a crowded room so early in the morning.
So, he made his way to his first class of the day, then his second, then his third, than his fourth, than his fifth…
Then his sixth, then his seventh, then his eighth…
Finally his long day was over…
Aoi walked out of the school, before hearing an older voice call his name "AOI, AOI!!!" The man shouted from around 6 meters away.
The man yelling his name was Tokura Sensei. Tokura was a middle aged man, maybe 36 through 47 , with a clean shaved bald head and scruffy goatee with parts of white hair here in there. Despite his age, Tokura Sensei was no frail man. In fact, he had a very toned body that put Aoi's slightly muscular body to shame.
"Oh… Hello, Tokura Sensei.." He would say in his monotone voice, before turning back around and walking away. Not even 10 feet away, he heard something soaring through the air.
As he looked up, he seen a silver ball, maybe around the size of a basketball being hurdled in the air, coming right at him.
As his instincts kicked in, he immediately put a hand out and grabbed it, before digging his hands into it and putting multiple deep dents the size of all his fingers.
"THINK FAAAaaaa…" Tokura look at Aoi in bewilderment and completely bamboozled as Aoi caught it.
"Oh, I caught it… Here you go." He would just drop it in the ground, not paying any attention to it. The moment he let go, the ball fell to the ground in an instant, making a giant crater in the ground.
"See you around later.." Aoi said, turning around and making his leave out of the school's entrance.
"Y-yeah… See you later…" Tokura began to wonder, "How the hell did he catch that… That boy caught that… it weighs 3 tons! He's a monster… I had to use a catapult to launch it at him, and he caught it with one hand!"
"That kid was blessed, blessed by the soul of Buddha himself!"
Tokura was perplexed by the accomplishment, that feat alone made him stronger than the entire school combined. He was…. A superhuman of sorts.
Aoi, not seeming to care about the world around him for the time being, walked through the bustling city of Tokyo, which was now more lively than before since it was Dusk.
Aoi would find himself in North Tokyo, where everything was dark out. Due to Aoi's sense of sight was above levels of a regular human, he could see as if it was his room lit up with a candle.
Out of the corner of his eye, he seen something scurrying into an alley. He thought it was a Japanese woman with a Spider's body? And he sworn it was dragging a cocoon made of its webs.
"Hm? What was that?" Aoi said in his monotoned voice (A/N: For now on, I won't be saying the "In monotoned voice." Every word that comes out of his mouth will be monotoned unless I say that it was actually with feeling.)
Aoi stared at the alley, and he felt as it was staring back at him. "Who's there?" He asked. Suddenly, a Japanese woman's body popped out, well, from the waist up.
"Hello, please help me!" The "woman" scram, which sounded like she was in actual distress.
But, Aoi would immediately get defensive, getting In a fighting stance.
The woman would frown in disappointment and dissatisfaction. "Creepy… How did you know? You can sense Reiki… As a human? No, you must be a hybrid to sense Reiki…. (A/N: Reiki is basically spiritual energy, and one of the main power systems in Yōkai Exorcists.) "I've never tasted a hybrids flesh… You must taste like a gourmet meal!"
The lady shrieked as she laughed, before revealing her full body. as she creeped out of the shadows. Aoi could see what she truly looked like, from the waist up, it was a beautiful Japanese woman, but, from the waist down, it was a body of a spider.
"Sigh…. What an unlucky day…" Aoi said in contempt of the situation.
