Chapter 4 - AS I PLEASE

Ira felt that staying in this place was even more suffocating than how he left it. But of course, it is all because of the fact that as father and son, they never meet in the middle. Always against each other's opinions and had different standing on things. Maybe it's due to the fact that they are too alike and that the differences are too proactive. Ira has this independent nature, wanting to do things for himself, not inconveniencing others even down to asking for help was hard. But most importantly was being told what to do, even if it's his right, he just wants to be able to think for himself and not need any one to make decisions for him.

Which in the end earned him the title of domineering, arrogant, bossy and "gay" in this recent time. Someone who is business-minded not only might lack social skills but sometimes have little to no one to share their success with. Always locked up and consumed with ideas, plans and strategies. Ira is the pure definition of too good but. And although he's an enthusiastic creative idealist, he lacks social skills which makes it hard for him to express and share.

But thank goodness for the friends who grew up with him, who understand and truly care for him. Together they have grown and risen to their current level of greatness and wealth. Just as Ira approached the door of his room, his phone vibrated in his pocket indicating an incoming call. It's from his very close buddy, Zamiel. "Hey yo, daddy's boy. How are you doing now you're back? Wanna come over?" He asked obviously knowing how tough it was for him.

"Tomorrow." Ira gave his usual one-word reply, as he pushed open his room door. "Okay okay, see you whenever. Bye." With that a beep was heard indicating the end of the call. Strolling further he found his sister, Emily lounging on his couch and eating from some snacks he had brought with him. Ira didn't say anything because not only was it meant for her but he actually spoils her to the tiny bit. "Make sure to clean up after you." He frowned deeply when he saw her foot on his couch, even though she had socks on.

'Speaking of which, I heard your favorite plastic doll is coming to stay with you forever and ever. Till death do you apart." Emily said as a matter of fact as she readjusted her position to a more ladylike manner. In truth, Ira and Ivy have never truly had any real connection. Just that, Ira's little circle knows how much he despises girls like her.

The only link between them is the fact that their fathers are extremely close in some sense, so they met by chance when there's a joint vacation organized by their fathers' group of friends. Ira for once has attended only twice cause of course, Ivy is an over clingy and possessive person, fueled by her mother's malicious and cunning heart, imagine the torture he had to endure through a week of supposed rest.

Alexis, his father as 'inconsiderate' as he is, has asked him to marry someone he sees as a nightmare. Hell nah, that is an impossible ask. "Never." Ira mouthed softly as he took off his cloak and shoes. "So, what are you going to do? I would have suggested elopement but look at you, a single folk. Hire a bride to deceive dad but that's totally impossible. That's right you can pretend to be dead. Fake your death, I mean who'll want to marry a corpse?" Emily went on ranting and ranting. Giving both sensible and ridiculous ideas at the same time.

Ira listened silently without saying anything but just scrolling through the news and updating himself with the trending information. He's been abroad for four to five months now, so he was lacking in some updates. "Oh, you have to come to my orientation. Dad made me go to this etiquette school." Emily asked with pleading eyes. She for one just wanted to flaunt her handsome big brother, with fingers crossed she hoped he would say 'yes' for the first time. "No." A single word was all it took to make her hope shattered.

"C'mon big brother" she whined as she munched on the snacks. It was the usual lifestyle of the two siblings, Emily has always been clingy towards her brother than her sister, mainly because Ira let her be more carefree unlike the latter who has many strict rules. "Are you going to let me know alone to a place where I know no one, what if I get bullied? What of they try to ruin my face? You know how vile women can be when they meet someone prettier than them. I'm scared." Emily continued to nag her brother, Ira, until he couldn't take it anymore and decided to compromise and agreed with her wishes

"Thank you, darling. I'll send you the details. See ya." She said as she headed out of his room. Ira walked into the bathroom to wash up, he needed to take a cold bath to calm down his nerves. Peace of mind was all he really wanted, but how could he get it when everyone was pressuring him, asking for this and that. Sigh, what a life.

Emily has just walked into a restaurant to wolf down on food. She was under the category of people who never got fat, no matter how much food was consumed, it never really made much difference. So whenever Emily was nervous about something, she made it a habit to eat or sing, which most times kinda doesn't end well. At the counter, trying to make an order, a man approached her seemingly to engage in a conversation. "Hi, excuse me."

Originally wanting to ignore him, but what's the worst that could happen if she indulges in the conversation. Unbeknownst to her, she was soon about to find out. "Oh, hi." came Emily's casual reply. Turning to the waiter at the counter, she confirmed her order and paid, taking it with her as she walked towards an empty table to eat. "I know I may sound a bit weird and off but can I get your digits?" he said as he rolled up his sleeve to show off his wrist watch which was a bit impressive. "I'm Emily." She introduced herself to him, cause it's courtesy that when meeting someone you don't know for the first time you introduce yourself. "Forgive me, I'm Ezra from Luminous Inc. You know the company that does electronics?" from that point onwards he kept on blabbing on and on about things that weren't her business.

Emily immediately lost appetite, but she had to give Ezra some face. "Excuse me, I need to use the ladies." With that she stood up and left towards the ladies, but the only thing on her mind was why the restaurant didn't have two rear exits in case of emergencies, cause this was a case of emergency and unluckily for her, Emily had chosen a seat close to the entrance. So he would see her if she planned to leave.
