Itachi took a slow, deep breath. The emotional shock of killing Uchiha Izumi with his own hands caused a sudden surge in his ocular power—
But it also left his emotions dangerously unstable.
"Thank you, Izumi… you forgave me in the end, didn't you? I'm honored," he murmured, looking down at her lifeless body.
"You even thanked me…"
What had Uchiha Itachi done?
He had used Tsukuyomi—a version so powerful, it nearly approached the realm of Infinite Tsukuyomi. A pseudo-infinite illusion.
In the real world, only a few seconds had passed.
But inside the illusion, he and Uchiha Izumi had lived an entire lifetime together—
As husband and wife, in happiness.
Before her death, Uchiha Izumi had even smiled as she thanked Uchiha Itachi…
"Are you supporting me, Izumi? I knew it… I knew you'd understand me…"
The smile on Uchiha Itachi's face grew more deranged by the second. He no longer acknowledged Izumi's corpse behind him, treating it as if it were nothing more than a pile of meaningless flesh.
He raised the katana still stained with Izumi's blood. The Mangekyō Sharingan in his eyes gleamed with hatred as he strode into the next home belonging to a member of the Uchiha clan.
[Shff.]
[Shff!]
Two swift slashes—
And another entire family was cleanly erased from the shinobi world.
Uchiha Obito silently watched this scene unfold and slowly exhaled a long breath.
This kid… was so extreme it even unsettled him.
To have produced someone like this—
It could only mean there was something truly wrong with the Uchiha bloodline.
His mind was broken to a level that was downright terrifying.
And watching all of this from the outside, Naruto had fallen into deep silence.
His young face was twisted with disbelief, his expression a wreck—shattered from the collapse of everything he thought he understood.
Under Keizumi's technique, both Naruto and Kurama were witnessing Itachi's massacre and hearing his inner thoughts in real time.
Initially, Naruto and Kurama had believed that eavesdropping on Itachi's thoughts might help them understand his motives.
But to their shock—
The more they listened, the more confused they became!
How could this guy believe that it was somehow acceptable to let someone else murder his lover right in front of him?
And why go through the trouble of hypnotizing Uchiha Izumi, acting all gentle in a fake illusion world, as if that made things square between them after he killed her?
What the hell was he thinking?
And when they heard Itachi's reasoning for killing Izumi, even Kurama—who was known across the shinobi world as a being of malice and misfortune—couldn't hold back anymore.
Itachi believed that if he wiped out the entire clan, Izumi might not understand his actions because some of her relatives would be among the dead. That might cause her to descend into darkness.
Wasn't that complete bullshit?
He still claimed to be her lover—yet he slaughtered her entire family.
Unless Uchiha Izumi's mind was as warped as his, how could she not fall into darkness?
"This Uchiha brat… his thinking is terrifying…"
Kurama spoke with rare, genuine shock. "I honestly don't even know how to respond to this…"
"According to his logic, the Uchiha clan was doomed from the start."
"He kills someone's loved ones. Then if that person might react emotionally to it—that's the reason they become dangerous and deserve to die too. And since the whole clan is interconnected through blood, the entire Uchiha is on his kill list."
"You're something else, kid."
Within Naruto's mind, Kurama gave Uchiha Itachi a distant thumbs-up, a rare gesture of genuine respect.
For the first time, Kurama wanted to use the word monstrous to describe a human being—a title he had never granted even to Uchiha Madara or Senju Hashirama.
"Kazuki-nii… what… what is he even doing?"
Little Naruto, watching this inhumanly twisted scene unfold, felt as if he'd been forced to ride the most terrifying roller coaster again and again despite having acrophobia. The shock hit him so hard that his lips had turned pale.
Compared to Uchiha Itachi, even all of Hiruzen's schemes felt tame—
Utterly insignificant, even.
"He's doing it to please himself."
Kazuki gently placed his hand on Naruto's head. The warmth of his palm, for reasons unknown, immediately dissolved the fear and confusion in Naruto's heart. The color returned to his lips.
Naruto took a deep breath, calming down as he listened closely to Kazuki's explanation.
Yeah…
There was no need to be so afraid.
As terrifying as Uchiha Itachi was, he still had Kazuki-nii and Kurama by his side—sources of strength that kept him grounded.
"To please himself?" Naruto repeated Keizumi's words in a daze, unsure of what to make of them.
Kurama also listened intently, unusually focused.
"He's an arrogant man… So arrogant that he sees the Uchiha clan's ethnic self-interest as narrow-minded. He believes that even the Uchiha simply fighting for fair treatment in Konoha was a hindrance to the village's greater development."
"Under the guise of some grand strategic vision, Itachi holds deep contempt for most of his own clan. If you listen closely to his inner pain and pleasure, you'll notice that every time he kills an Uchiha, he believes he's purging impurities."
"In his eyes, there's nothing wrong with killing members of the Uchiha clan. On the contrary—Itachi believes he is the truest expression of what it means to be Uchiha. He thinks he's preserving the clan's name, and that those he's slaughtering deserve punishment for defiling it."
Keizumi spoke softly: "Did you hear it? That twisted joy in his heart?"
Naruto and Kurama exchanged a glance—and slowly, they nodded.
They could feel it—
The thick, blood-like euphoria in Uchiha Itachi's soul.
This fanatic of the Will of Fire was offering his loyalty in what he believed to be the most devout way imaginable.
"This… is the extraordinary world we live in, Naruto."
Kazuki's voice was calm and steady. "Even if you just want a peaceful life, without the power to protect yourself, that life can be shattered—utterly—without warning."
"And I'm not even talking about the militant faction of the Uchiha. There were plenty of ordinary clansmen, people who just sold snacks in the village, who didn't even have the right to attend clan meetings. They had nothing to do with politics."
"But they still died."
"Because to Uchiha Itachi, they were all just expendable material for his own satisfaction. And the weak… have no right to say no when facing the strong."
Kazuki looked at Naruto, who only half understood. Then he turned his gaze to Uchiha Obito, who was quietly reattaching his chains to his arm.
And just like that—he dropped a bombshell.
"Naruto… I heard the thoughts of another killer tonight."
"Most likely, he's the one who murdered your father and mother."
"Do you want to try taking revenge?"
The one who murdered his parents?
Upon hearing Kazuki's words, Naruto trembled all over.
And at that moment, the thoughts churning in Uchiha Obito's mind slowly echoed in Naruto's consciousness—
"I'm making a move in Konoha again… The last time I fought here was seven years ago!"
"If I'd had more combat experience back then, I would've already seized the Nine-Tails by now, defeated Namikaze Minato, the Fourth Hokage, head-on, and secured the most crucial piece within the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path…"
"Unfortunately, Namikaze Minato's Flying Thunder God Technique was still formidable, and Kushina's Adamantine Sealing Chains—who would've thought she could still restrain the Nine-Tails even during childbirth? I didn't see that coming…"
"After all, those two were my sensei and his wife…"
"But in the end, it was still my victory… Namikaze Minato and Kushina were both dragged to death by me on the night of the Nine-Tails' attack. There are no longer any ninja in Konoha who pose a real threat to me! Once the Akatsuki's strength increases a bit more, we can start going after each of the Tailed Beasts one by one…"
"Maybe I'll go find Naruto in a bit… A young Nine-Tails jinchūriki, such an easy target—it's truly tempting to stuff him right into the Demonic Statue and let him contribute to the great Infinite Tsukuyomi…"
Naruto's expression grew uglier by the second… What had he just heard?
The man who killed his parents—was once Namikaze Minato's student?
And it wasn't enough that he murdered Minato and Kushina. During the Uchiha clan massacre, he even set his sights on Naruto, seemingly planning to come for him next…
Naruto's heart churned violently.
A massive rage, seething like molten lava, burned furiously within him—as if even his soul were about to ignite.
Why?
Why, even though he was his father's disciple, would he target him like this…?
Just like how Uchiha Itachi had slaughtered his own clan, this masked man had locked onto Naruto's entire family—father, mother, and child—not intending to spare a single one. It was as if he wanted to send off the entire Namikaze family in one tidy sweep!
In that moment, Naruto felt an overwhelming empathy for those killed by Uchiha Itachi.
Encountering a madman like this… it was just too tragic!
And though wrapped in fury, Naruto couldn't suppress the fear welling up within him—growing heavier and heavier with each passing second.
Having witnessed the massacre firsthand, Naruto knew all too well just how terrifyingly skilled these two monsters—Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Obito—truly were. Devoid of humanity, yet with combat prowess at the very peak.
The Uchiha clan, renowned across the shinobi world as a lineage of natural-born geniuses, hadn't even been able to withstand two moves from either of them. Each and every clan member was executed swiftly and cleanly.
Even Uchiha Itachi had once paused for a moment because of Uchiha Izumi.
But Uchiha Obito was like a ghost, drifting in and out of house after house using some jutsu Naruto couldn't understand. In just a few moments, he would reappear, floating silently back out...
There wasn't a single sound from the fights. The only sign of what had happened was the growing thickness of blood on the iron chain in his hand and the katana he carried—evidence that another family had just been wiped out.
Such overwhelming strength…
Even though Naruto had trained diligently over the past few months—greatly improving his taijutsu and ninjutsu, and even mastering the advanced Kekkei Tōta known as Dust Release...
He was still, in terms of physical development, only a seven-year-old child. He was lacking in many areas. How could he possibly go up against merciless monsters like Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Obito?
He'd be crushed instantly.
Especially now that Uchiha Obito intended to kill him—if he confronted him now, wouldn't that be handing himself over on a silver platter?
And yet, the blood-deep grudge of his parents made Naruto's hatred boil in his very marrow…
He hated his own powerlessness with everything he had!
