"Clan Head… what do we do now?"
Uchiha Yashiro hesitated as he looked at Naruto, who had just taken down Uchiha Itachi. The anger and fear left over from the Night of the Massacre had faded considerably after seeing the legendary Susanoo so easily dismantled…
"Should we try to break through the Flame Formation and support the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki? But it looks like he…"
"…he doesn't need our support at all."
Uchiha Fugaku's face was stony as he slowly shook his head. "Let it be… I suspect the Third Hokage and Danzō are already on their way. Let's see how they deal with this…"
"What would our support even mean now? If not for the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki, the Uchiha clan would've been wiped out tonight—by my own deranged son, in collusion with the mastermind behind the Nine-Tails' Night!"
"Let's not make things worse for him. Focus on setting up a perimeter and watching for any enemy reinforcements. That's all we can do now."
Fugaku was overwhelmed by complex emotions at Naruto's astonishing strength. His gaze swept slowly—one by one—over the so-called combat hardliners present.
Those very same Uchiha hardliners now lowered their heads, expressions full of shame.
"Damn it… now that I think about that plan you all came up with before, I honestly want to call it a joke. It's so ridiculous it almost feels like comedy."
Fugaku's voice was low, but extremely clear—clear enough for every Uchiha to hear.
The hardliners bowed their heads even lower.
The "plan" Fugaku referred to was the one those hardliners had proposed during the clan assembly at the time: one group would seize control of the Nine-Tails, while another launched a surprise attack on the Third Hokage and Danzō…
If they had really attacked Naruto back then, the Uchiha clan might've been finished already… Even Susanoo had been taken down in just two or three moves—and so effortlessly, at that.
With a bunch of Three Tomoe Sharingan users, weren't they basically lining up to be cannon fodder?
Now that Uchiha Itachi's plan for the clan massacre had fallen apart, and most of the Uchiha had survived…
Even if Uchiha Fugaku had previously given in to despair, ready to die, he now had to at least put on the appearance of a clan head in front of everyone—to draw a clear line between himself and Uchiha Itachi.
After all… he still had a younger son, Sasuke.
And Fugaku was beginning to realize that, after this incident, the entire situation might have shifted drastically.
The Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki suppressing Susanoo had delivered a shockwave straight into the hearts of the Uchiha hardliners, crushing what remained of their rebellious ambitions.
Start a rebellion? With what, a stick?
Now that rebellion was off the table, the Uchiha could at least survive—though they would live under some pressure.
For someone as middle-of-the-road as Uchiha Fugaku, seeing a chance for the clan to cut its losses and survive actually stirred a trace of relief within him.
Yes, some of the Uchiha had been killed—but in exchange, the clan had avoided an all-out rebellion, complete with infamy, disgrace, and total annihilation. Instead, they could continue living in Konoha under the identity of victims.
Thinking this, Fugaku locked his sharp gaze onto Uchiha Obito, who stood beyond the wall of fire, and muttered: "Third Hokage… hurry up and come with the Anbu."
"Come and see it for yourself—an Uchiha is slaughtering the Uchiha. The clan is innocent!"
Upon closer observation, Fugaku had recognized Obito's dōjutsu—it was the exact same power he'd seen during the Nine-Tails' Rampage seven years ago!
'…Fugaku, what are you scheming now?' Kazuki glanced sideways at Uchiha Fugaku, then looked away again. As far as he was concerned, this mediocre clan head only needed to ensure the Uchiha survived.
Anything would be better than total annihilation.
To Kazuki, this alternate-universe version of the Uchiha had nothing to do with him…
But since they shared blood, it wasn't unreasonable to let a few of them survive—so long as it helped provoke Naruto in the right ways.
Still, Kazuki had no interest in helping the Uchiha any further.
Even in his original timeline, Kazuki's Uchiha heritage was merely a stepping stone—something he leveraged in front of angel investors like Senju Tobirama, Uchiha Madara, and Uzumaki Mito.
"Naruto, your power doesn't stop here… Your mother carried bloodline talents in sealing and sensory techniques, while your father passed on a special ability related to space."
"You have a natural sensitivity to spatial forces. Which means… you can learn this technique too."
Under Kazuki's control, Naruto slowly pulled out a stack of kunai, silently engraving the Flying Thunder God formula onto them.
Naruto nodded blankly.
So… his mom and dad were actually kinda amazing? How did he end up inheriting so many good things…
Of course, what Kazuki said was only a possibility.
Naruto did have the potential to learn the Flying Thunder God Technique…
But so did Inada Kojiro, the classmate who sold tricolored dango down the street.
The greatest difference between Naruto and Inada Kojiro wasn't whether their fathers had mastered the Flying Thunder God Technique like Namikaze Minato—it was Kazuki's guidance.
Kazuki using the Flying Thunder God, and claiming that Naruto could learn it too, was merely to make both him and Kurama believe—Kazuki truly was only using Naruto's body as his interface…
"Planning to run away?"
Naruto looked toward Uchiha Obito, who was full of wariness, and chuckled lightly. "If you don't run now… you won't get another chance."
As someone who possessed the same dōjutsu, Kazuki naturally understood Kamui inside and out.
When shifting into the other dimension, Obito couldn't maintain his intangibility at the same time… That was why Konan had tried to kill him using a barrage of exploding tags—forcing him to solidify mid-transfer.
If he wanted to escape, Obito would need to reserve a window of time in advance…
Once combat had begun, even with Kamui, escaping midway became significantly more difficult.
"Run? You brat, you must be out of your mind… You think I'm as weak as that worthless Mangekyō user?"
Obito's voice was low and venomous. "When you were little, I even held you in my arms, Naruto… Speaking to your elders like that deserves punishment!"
After seeing "Naruto's" power, Obito had considered fleeing...
But the problem was, there were simply too many mysteries surrounding Naruto. A seven-year-old boy had just shown strength enough to solo a Susanoo.
If he were allowed to grow, how would the Eye of the Moon Plan ever succeed?
That's why, after a moment's thought, Obito decided—even if it meant completely exposing his existence and drawing the suspicion of Konoha and other Great Nations—he had to eliminate Naruto here and now!
He possessed Kamui, a dōjutsu capable of killing in one strike upon first encounter!
As long as he dragged Naruto into the Kamui dimension… everything would be over. No matter how capable Naruto was, he would still be forced to yield before the might of his eye technique.
"If you won't run… then I suppose I'll just have to fight you."
Naruto suddenly swung his arm—countless kunai flew toward Obito in bizarre trajectories!
Obito let out a cold snort and phased through them, charging straight toward Naruto without hesitation, treating the kunai as if they didn't exist.
The weapons passed straight through Obito without resistance.
The strange scene caused all the nearby Uchiha to frown. What kind of jutsu was this?
In that moment, the Uchiha finally understood why the earlier massacre had been so eerily silent.
A silent, physically untouchable ghost, armed with Mangekyō Sharingan, launching a surprise attack under cover of night—was truly a terrifying enemy no one could defend against.
What's more, another Mangekyō-wielding Uchiha was backing him up…
The hearts of the surrounding Uchiha clenched again… Could Naruto really deal with such a strange technique?
Uchiha Obito was rapidly closing in, reaching out with his hand—straight and unhesitating!
As long as he could grab Naruto, it would all be over. Kamui's powerful spatial pull would instantly warp both of them away!
Just like seven years ago, when Obito had tried to grab Namikaze Minato!
Naruto, holding a kunai in his hand, narrowed his eyes. A trace of chakra gathered at the tip of his tongue.
And just as Obito was about to grab him, Naruto lightly flicked the kunai into the sky.
Obito's heart tightened—a surge of unease rose from a distant, bitter memory.
Sure enough—at the exact moment he became tangible to seize Naruto, Naruto suddenly reappeared above his head, a gleaming blade of water raised high in his hand!
The same golden hair… but this time, instead of a Rasengan, it was the buzzing Hard Whirlpool Water Blade
The scene was nearly identical!
Naruto swung the water blade down toward Obito!
But unlike seven years ago, it didn't strike Obito's tangible form—it passed right through him…
"Got you, brat!" Obito turned and grabbed Naruto's arm, unable to suppress the gleam of joy in his eyes.
He had so much he wanted to say—
All these years, the humiliation of having Kamui's invincibility shattered by Namikaze Minato's Flying Thunder God had lingered like a shadow, etched deep in his mind.
Ever since that failure, Obito had constantly reflected on his shortcomings, honing the speed of Kamui again and again…
Until today.
If Naruto hadn't fought so fiercely—so much like Namikaze Minato—he might never have recalled all those countless imagined countermeasures he'd devised against his former sensei…
And he might have fallen to the same trick all over again.
"Pteh!" Naruto spat back with a simple reply—
Water Release: Heaven's Cry!
At the exact moment Obito grabbed him—becoming fully tangible—a barrage of razor-sharp water needles shot out at extreme speed, aimed straight at his Mangekyō Sharingan!
They pierced through his eyeball!
The strike was so fast that Obito didn't even feel the pain right away. He was still muttering something, completely unaware…
