Ba'dqeel watched the Rein pace back and forth in front of him, anxiety practically pouring from him. "I went to see the Ethawainian female you told me about," the Rein finally said, coming to a stop in front of Ba'dqeel.
The male could feel the eyes of the Rein searching him as he made his declaration. It was as if he was expecting some type of response from him the second he spoke about the female.
No, not the female…
Ariel…
His Ariel.
His mate.
Hiding his mouth behind the fermented drink that the Rein had given Ba'dqeel, the other male kept his face impassive. "How did it go? Did she admit that she was working with Vu'tuip and the Covenant?" Ba'dqeel asked, placing his drink down on the coffee table.
This was one of the few times the Rein had allowed him in his personal audience room. Ba'dqeel shifted slightly on the uncomfortable chair under him, but like with most things that the Rein favors, the furniture was more about looks than function.
